Shades of Reimer... eek benched in five minutes and allowing 3 goals.

He wasn’t even bad, we just decided to sleep through the first 5 minutes defensively. And now again in the third..... Absolutely fuging unbelievable.

That loss hurt. Those momentum swings were huge.

Can't keep dropping games to lesser opponents. Need to rally the last three games in December. I'd like to get 4-5 points out of those games. 17-18 points/month will keep us on pace to a 100+ point season and probably a decent seeding.

Montreal game Tuesday night (New Year's Eve) might have been one of the nastier games of the season for the Canes. More than once players came together and had to be separated by the refs. Of course, some of it was their fault as several penalties went without a whistle. Mrazek even took a shot at one of their players coming through the crease.

Carolina looked very sluggish and uninspired in the 1st period. The Canes can get very aggressive on the pinches and it allows the middle of the ice to open up and the Canadiens had several good looks right in front of Mrazek. And Jordan Staal played like crap- he turned the puck over about 3 times in the Canadien zone, giving Montreal a few good shots from short range. It was close until the end- the empty net goal by Dzingel was a pretty shot from a bad angle, and he ripped it.

We are getting a pennies on the dollar return at best on Staal, right now.

Definitely a bit overpaid but he’s been better offensively lately and is a very important cog on the PK and as a defense and faceoff specialist at center. It would be ideal to have him in more of a third line role but I think we’re solid with him where he’s at. Having our 3rd line scoring like they have been has helped a lot. Dzingel-Haula-Necas have outstanding chemistry and shouldn’t be broken up. And they could be considered 2nd line caliber.

That line got rewarded last night with plenty of ice time in the final period of a tie game.

Good OT win, although the Flyer's tying goal was a gimme disaster. Dougie hit a double-5 hole on the defender and goalie in OT to secure the win.

I can’t believe we won that with how poorly Reimer played. He looked as bad or worse than Darling. 2 of those goals should never ever have gone in the net on even an AHL goalie. Yes there were some defensive meltdowns too which are becoming way too common, but ultimately we outplayed the Flyers by quite a bit and should’ve won handily in regulation. I’ll take the 2 points though. Maybe Willy’s leadership being back can help the team figure out some of these issues. And Mrazek and Reimer need to step it up or we need to trade for a goalie to compete in the playoffs.

I've been saying all season that goalie play could sink us. Reimer was leaking like a goddamn sieve last night. I hated to give up a point them but at least we got the two. Need to finish this home stand strong. I would like to see a 20+ point January.

That's probably the worst game Reimer has had in a few weeks. To be sure, though, I'm more concerned with Mrazek lately.
