So no one else concerned about CMC towards the end of the game?

Something a lot of people don't think about is pregame for these players. First time I was at a game this season and I was there to watch all the players warm up. Most players are out there and they run a route, stretch and then take a little off while standing in line before running another route. CMC was out there earlier than most and was sprinting around catching passes, and as soon as he caught one he would flick it back to the thrower, continue to run in a circle sprint and immediately get tossed another one. He was the only person working this hard during the early warmups. I don't know if this was his normal routine but I can tell you from watching both sides warm up this isn't the normal routine for any of the other players on both teams.

The defenders were doing a drill, then standing and dancing, waiting for a command and then ran another drill. DJ was jogging from one end zone to about the 20 and then sprinting the last 20 yards to the other end zone. He would then stretch before doing it again. CMC was constantly running or sprinting while catching the ball.

He’s an absolute freak. His off-season training workouts must be on par with Jerry Rice’s. The only other guy I can see training as hard is Cam. Those guys love to train. It isn’t work for them, they actually enjoy it. Freak humans.

It really is cool to watch. I suggest people get to games early just to watch what he does.

Yeah my only worry was that with how hard he is going during warmups and how much the sun was absolutely destroying us, it seems like a pretty natural thing to think he might get some cramps later in the game with the amount of work he was putting it.

There was a lot of things said about Jerry rice’s off-season workouts. I grew up in the Bay Area and you would hear stories of Jerry cutting a wood phone pole and strapping it to his back to do wind sprints up California hills, his dad was a brick layer and he would catch bricks to “soften his hands.” He would invite teammates to his off-season workouts and nobody could keep up with him stamina wise. His teammates would say he did the most damage at end of games because he was never tired while dbs were gassed.

In a close and competitive game like that, had we pulled CMC and lost, you guys would have been screaming your heads off.

It was good to learn just how explosive Bonnafon could be, so maybe we will see a bit more of him, especially when we have a good lead.

But, if you want CMC to win the rushing, total yards and touchdowns titles, along with MVP... then he's going to be out there for 99% of the snaps. That's the only way it happens.

I disagree by the time he cramped up running the clock was the smarter play anyway. I was actually annoyed that they tossed up that last prayer instead of forcing jacksonville to use their last TO.

    • Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.
    • I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.
    • Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
