Tip o' the cap to Reggie Bonnafon.

That dude came in and balled out --- very productive.

Looks like he could be a legit candidate to shoulder some of the work load CMC is carrying.  I hope Norv finds more touches for Bonnafon in London, let's see if he can continue to produce.

Not to be that guy, but when he came in the Jags defense was sucking more wind than a Hoover vacuum.

Doesn't belittle what he did, but keep it in perspective.

A fresh set of legs to take advantage of gassed defense and spell a starter.

Just what a backup should be.

Hopefully it won't take another 5 games before we see it happen again.

this dude definitely needs to be giving CMC some rest.  Also provides a chance to use CMC as a decoy and have them both out there.

I mean just imagine the potential if we get him consistently on the field in a small role.  I mean, that is the trick play RB not CMC.

Exactly!

If defenses see that more than just CMC is capable in running game, then defenses have to be cautious when 2 backs are in bc CMC is a great WO as well. Pick your poison and pray you picked the right defensive call.

Evolving offense. Not giving away all the looks. Keeping it fresh.

Norv can be alot like Belichick if keeps evolving game by game which makes it harder for opponents to game plan against our O. If so, this will help KA alot and CMC at the same time, Norv can be frustrating like the 4th&goal call.

Long as we win, Idc.

When Reggie busted off that 59 yarder the most excited person in the stadium was CMC.....very good to see.

I bet Reggie shows up at the next practice with a little extra pep in his step....hope it snowballs positively from here.

a couple things,

1) apparently CMC was pretty winded as well. no reason that we should keep throwing out a winded RB

2) Bonnafon has hopefully made a case for himself as someone who might not be at the level of CMC, but he does enough to take advantage of a winded D that the real CMC has made winded. Bonnafon is no CMC, but the CMC we saw near the end of the game isn't the real CMC either. Dude was understandably worn out.

3) We still have Scarlett to see and I would love to see what he can do against a wore out defense. Bonnafon is kind of more of the same (not a bad thing), but then Scarlett could come in and cause even more frustrations for the defense because he's a different kind of runner.

I think you mean the 4th and half a yard inside the five . . . but really that call wasn't the worst.  It was third and half a yard where we blew it.

    • Still working on consuming all of these so I don't have summaries available, but I figured there might be another Huddler or three trying to kill time before tonight's final preseason game.   Panthers Blueprint: Training Camp The in-house produced Blueprint series has given behind-the-scenes look on the field and off. Start the day with Robert Hunt's family, be in the morning meetings, mic'd up players during practice (Jaycee, Rozeboom, Icky, and Bryce), roster evaluations by the staff, and plenty of camp highlights capping off with FanFest.   Processing Blue (Mike Kaye & Alex Zietlow Mike and Alex are back talking about a variety of topics including but not limited to: joint practice + preseason game vs. Houston, Trey Hendrickson trade rumors involving Carolina, training camp awards, draft pick draft, and various thoughts about the team.   Jordan & Jake 706: Opening Day Another in-house Panthers' production, the most recent episode of Jordan and Jake talk about how to properly balance intensity in practice, react to the starters being shutdown for the preseason finale, share their thoughts on the newest Panther QB, and more.   Raw Room - Ep 278 - Gas Pedal (ft. Mike Davis) Assistant special teams' coach Darren Bates' Raw Room podcast has former Panthers' RB Mike Davis on his weekly podcast. I'm about halfway through this one and it's been a lot of fun. The Raw Room guys (DB, his friend Alex Sweets, former Eagles/Chargers OT King Dunlap, and former Atlanta DB Jalen Collins) are hilarious and Mike fits right in. They talk about his football experience coming up, decommitting from Florida and how he decided on South Carolina, and more. Warning: If you're the type of person that is easily distracted by accents, despite XL being on the team, you might have issues with understanding the Memphis dialect. If you don't care about how somebody talks, just what they're talking about, tune in!
    • Allen was borderline unplayable in College.  He's an absolute unicorn in terms of his career panning out the way it has.
    • It's a step up in competition as well. The gap in athletic skill is narrowed from what was faced at the college level.
