A little perspective on Allen

I want you to imagine something. Imagine we had taken Allen with the third round pick this season instead of Grier.

Now let the season play out as it has and you'd have a third round pick playing undefeated and actively being a part of those victories.

You'd be shouting the praises of the guy, the pick and our future.

The kid has earned some adulation and many, many hurrahs.

No slam at all on Cam, but if your draft pick comes off the bench and wins out not just one game, but three in a row, you have a reason to cheer.

It is interesting discussion.

We, including myself, just have a strong emotional attachment to Cam.  We have been defending him for years and we feel we need to protect him now even more so.

Kyle Allen deserves a ton of credit. He's been solid and he is capable of getting better. We should all be happy an thankful because 3 weeks ago people were looking at the draft.  If Sunday is Kyles last game starting, we need to remember he helped save our 2019-2020 season.  I thought it was over for sure, and now we have a chance.

In what world is Grier a bust after playing in ZERO regular season games.

This.

Allen’s play means we don’t know what Grier may or may not become, and if you’re going to point to the preseason as any indicator, remember that’s the same preseason in which Allen looked like nothing special and certainly not someone we’d expect to go 3-0 if Cam was out.

The team won those games. He’s been decent, but let’s stop it like the defense and CMC hasn’t carried him. He almost gave the game away last game.

    • I could be waaaaaaay off about Kon. I do fault myself into, to borrow a NFL phrase heavily "RAS" nerd on players, too much. There are PLENTY of athletic freak shows that are playing overseas(or Amazon delivery) cause they never figured out NBA ball. I can easily miss seeing the talent. Plus did he only have 2 dunks on the season??(is that for real??) I didn't watch over a few hours of duke, but not one point did I think "That Kon guy is a top 4 pick in the upcoming draft". IMO I still foresee Ball bringing the ball up, doing his weak isolation game and never even looking for Kon. That's his best trait according to everyone, shooting right? I do not see ball, bridges, miller or even williams making the extra pass to Kon for him to shoot a 3.  Then defense-wise, Im not ready to type the amount of questions I foresee in his ability for guarding NBA SGs or bench SFs for that matter. Not that NBA players care to defend, but still..... I just feel he's a bad fit for the current hornets, trades are taking place tho... Liam to me is a decent comp for Kon and he fell some, but was a 29 overall pick. Still around 13-21 was the good solid range for Liam and I thought the same for Kon. This is just a classic case of I need to see it. It add to this, Kon is like garlic. Ball is like sugar and Miller is like flour. Mix it together and chef Lee is not going to get me to eat that dish..... Honestly I don't know why Im this vocal about Kon. In past years I would be patience and not post and see what the kid has. The other side, insert classic white boy terms here- _____, ______, _______< etc >. Hornets do desperately need them. His crafty back door cuts, his willingness to stay a extra 2 hours to refine lees plays, keep playing with bruised limbs. I heard from many reports he's mentally tough and hornets by all gods need that. God they are such pussys.  I hope Im wrong and if so, I will give Kon his just props.
