All I’ve ever said, since July, was Allen is a solid, viable backup. The game in New Orleans proved that to me personally. He had a hand in four wins this year, and that’s value at the backup position. I never advocated for a long-term Kyle Allen scenario in Carolina. And I know you never said that, but I’m getting some pushback as if I am anti-cam. Nothing could be more distant from the truth. If you follow me on Twitter, or if you follow our website, it’s pretty clear where I stand on this issue.

I do take issue with people trashing Kyle Allen. It’s not his fault that he was put in this position. If you want to trash people who trash Newton, please, do that. But trashing Kyle Allen seems terribly counterproductive. 

Again, not you personally. But there’s a whole lot of that here, and elsewhere.
