I hope Burns now understands that when you punch the ground it usually punches back harder.

Nice to see Little advancing in the protocol, heard he was on the field.

Yes Daley is the best option, might have struck gold.

Hope Allen learns quickly, he’s going to see another very good defense this week.

The only way Daley looked like "gold" this past weekend was if he was a golden turnstile. He's also been getting a lot of help in previous weeks.

I'm not saying he's never going to be good (he's still a rookie who's barely played) but let's be real about it here.

Nine times out of ten, "league source" turns out to be somebody's agent.

They're not necessarily the most objective purveyors of information.

Why would Cam's agent provide incorrect information of that nature to a legitimate NFL reporter with a national following?  It's completely illogical to suggest he would do so.  What am I missing?

A player's agent is always going to provide information that makes the player look good. Whether that information happens to be true or not is secondary.

It's the reason why you see reports of "hey, this team said they're interested in this player" followed by the team saying "no we didn't".

You are correct on 7 weeks....my bad, miscounted.

For all we know Schefter's report was correct.

What's driving the lack of transparency from 'Boat?  Something to hide?

I don't think there is anything to hide.  He has told us Cam is progressing week to week, and he has told us why Cam isn't doing X (like travelling with the team to London, or standing around on the side lines for 4 hours).  He hasn't told us if there have been specific examinations made and how Cam is progressing in them, but I wouldn't expect him to.  It is none of our business the details of how Cam is healing / recovering, and it should be enough that we are seeing progress.

Assuming Rivera is lying to cover something up doesn't make sense.

I can't figure you out... Are you really this naive or is it an act?

I think you're missing the fact that schefter has been throwing poo at the wall for years.

Schefter can be good, but definitely not as good as he once was. He was a much more reliable source when he worked for the NFL.

These days, Ian Rapoport is what Adam Schefter used to be.

How does the agent providing false info to Schefter make Cam look good?

Trying to figure out what the payoff is...

    • I think they are holding back to see what they have in the young guys, but I think it's a near certainty at some point they will bring someone else in. Right now (assuming we keep 5 CBs which is normal), the top 5 IMO are: 1) Jaycee Horn 2) Mike Jackson 3) Chau Smith-Wade 4) Shemar Bartholomew  5) Akayleb Evans   Obviously Jaycee is the alpha in that room and paid as such. Need him to stay healthy and continue to play at a Pro-Bowl level. Mike Jack did pretty well all things considered last year, and they gave him lower-level starter money. Fair deal for both sides.  Smith-Wade showed some promise as a slot CB. I think low-key he's a lock for the team. Different size and skill set than the other CBs. Shemar Bartholomew was the most sought after waiver claim last preseason. Was 5th CB most and inactive most of last year. Had a few defensive and ST snaps. Nothing of note good or bad but too small a sample size to make any judgment. Akayleb Evans was a 2022 4th Rounder for the Vikings. Has started 19 games (including Week 18 for the Panthers) in his career and played in 43. Was pretty good in 2023 before getting injured and falling down the depth chart last year. There's some other guys on the outside looking in, but until they show more in training camp I dont see anyway they make the 53. And only Jaycee, Mike Jack, and Smith-Wade are locks to make this roster IMO.
    • Was just reading the Ask the Old Guy story on the team's website and was shocked to see that only two 2nd Rounders have signed so far, 30 of them haven't. That isn't normal, the Texans really screwed things up for the rest of the league, no other explanation that I can think of for 30 of the 32 picks to still be unsigned at this point.
    • They need to address CB before season starts. This is not going to cut it.
