Jackson is definitely more of a hot dogger / big talker than Samuel is.

As the Samuel, mentioned it earlier. Super speed guys are supposed to be the ones that can take a short pass and turn it into a big gain.

Are we seeing Samuel do that?

Those short passes turn into big gains because the defense is stretched out, giving those agile speedsters space to operate.

Hard to stretch them out when they don't have to respect the deep ball :(

Fair point.

Even with that said though, we could still be more successful with things like screens, misdirection and such given the speed of some of the players that we have.

We're just not.

We were moving the ball pretty well last year when Cam played, jacked up shoulder and no deep ball we're stopping us.    The playcalling has been really, really bad too at times.    I think Norv is too hyperfocused on CMC.    Cam's greater start last year worked despite no deep ball but Allen just isn't as good and can't cover up the lack of that.

The biggest difference is that Cam was completing a much higher percentage of his throws(67.9% vs. Kyle's 61.6%) even without those deep passes and also was taking better care of the ball(1.3 TO/G vs. Kyle's 2.0 TO/G). That is obviously going to lead to worse performances. Basically, even a banged up Cam with a bum shoulder was able to perform better than that Kyle has been able to. Now, he did perform more poorly this year with the foot injury.
