Interim: Scott Turner, Plus other talent to evaluate

We have a young guy that is obviously being groomed for a future in the league. He's 37, has made Allen look respectable, Cam look in MVP form early last season, so why not see what he can do?

You never know when you have a guy hiding in plain sight.  Now is the time to evaluate if we have talent hiding behind Ron and his preferred vets.  He may just be Norv's son, but maybe there's more.  Cam really liked him, Kyle fits his system but maybe he could add some nuance to his dad's sometimes archaic ways.

We also need to take a hard to look at the following guys:

  • Dennis Daley (continued eval for a OT starter)
  • Ian Thomas (Looked good last season, would like to see where he's at)
  • Jordan Scarlett (He'll be 24 next season...we need to see if we have something or not)
  • Tyler Larsen (He may have a nice backup contract but I'd like to really see if he could be a starter)
  • Jermaine Carter (We're still playing 4-3 mostly, get him on the field)

And for gawd sake, get Burns and Miller on the field.  BURNS and MILLER please.

Yeh it just makes sense to make him the interim. He might be a star.

I think it makes a ton of sense.  I would do it now but in a business sense, I think it makes sense to give him a shot once we're officially out of playoff contention.  He could get in 2-4 games this year for us.

we wouldn’t make it winning out.

    • It's crazy with how much winning was going on when we had a little cool off period that we're still just a couple games out of 6th. Moussa is getting better every week and Coby is getting comfortable. Would be nice to get to 6 but I think this team is a lot more stacked than the last couple play ins. I can't remember the exact rules but if you're 7th seed and win the first game I think you automatically move on and don't have to play the second game?
    • I think it was a thing for sure. Panthers weren’t too many people’s first choice. Or 5th choice.  2022 and 2023… coaches fired mid season. Consecutive years. You want any of that?  He has definitely overseen a rehab of how the Panthers are perceived. Because we are a place that is seen as up and coming. And just the little thing of he accommodated Theilen so graciously, that gets noticed. It all adds up. Dan is doing a lot of things right, probably most things.  Needs a good draft.
    • K, I think that is dumb, but you do you. I didn't find anything online that made him out to be a dislikable person. I am certain the Panthers would have cared so much if they lost your fandom if they hired Sean Payton. But bet you would have come crawling back if Sean lead us to a Super Bowl victory or Golden leads UNC to a champion ship. It is easy to say you are gonna leave a team if the hire someone you dislike when the chips are down. But people like you tend to come crawling back once the team finds success.
