I'm surprised it didn't get more coverage. I didn't see a lot on it, when it looked so brutal. He was practically snoring on the field.

See above.

If he suffered any further  consequences for that hit and subsequent ejection, I haven't seen them.

Much better than nothing for nothing and nothing. One could be filling a much- needed outside WR role. For CAR. Not SEA.

Was picking up Moncrief a better move? No. So what’s the problem? Did I say something that wasn’t true. Then and now?

Did I say something that wasn’t true? Averaging one catch a game is pretty terrible so it’s strange that you’re triggered about missing out on that. If you wanna argue that he would put up better production catching passes from Kyle Allen instead of Russell Wilson, then go for it lol.

I’d argue that zero catches on minimal snaps is better than 4 catches on significant snaps (or a wash at worst) cause one player is getting significant opportunities and is putting out trash production, while the other is getting minimal opportunities and understandably putting out no production.

Yes. By direct comparison, yes. If the player that actually HAS produced, and is “awful” is still better than zero. So it doesn’t change the FACT that Gordon is contributing, and Moncrief is gone after nothing.

I’m sure you would argue that. And it would make as much sense as any usual excuses.

Our starting 3 WRs have all outproduced Josh Gordon since he was signed by the Seahawks, by direct comparison, FYI.  So you advocating for a downgrade?

I mean I know Gettleman was pretty trash at drafting receivers so we don't have the most talented receiving corps to work with, but Josh Gordon ain't it.

I was advocating for a player that could have actually been useful over one who wasn’t. Just like I did when we wasted our time picking Moncrief up. I didn’t compare him to anyone but Moncrief. You keep bringing everything else you can to try and convince us that it’s something more.

And there goes default mode. Bring something else into it to avoid another half assed attempt to discredit anything negative. Just like all off-season. When is it OK to point out anything wrong? That “All is Well” BS didn’t work out this year. And whenever it was pointed out as a possibility, the “minions” hit default mode and you’re a Hurney Hater, Ron hater, whatever hater...but it was just a case of being correct.

Make up your minds, people! Dortch should've never been waived but at least he made it to the practice squad. Gives Smitty a short guy with good hands to mentor. Glad he's back.

As for Moncrief, bottom line, wasn't that ultimately the GM's move to make ......... aw, never mind.

Oh okay so comparing Gordon to our receivers (who he allegedly would be replacing) is not appropriate...lol. Sorry for comparing their stats.

If you want to whine and cry about a receiver who has averaged one catch and less than 12 yards a game with his new team, then go for it dude. But you’re coming across as a guy who whines just to whine. You’re really using the argument “Well actually one catch a game is better than zero!!!”...that’s the most simple-minded superficial argument I’ve ever heard.

You really think I attack anything negative on these boards? I’d have almost as many posts as Mr. Scot if that were the case.

    • In terms of enthusiasm at this exact juncture it's a 5 only because regular season football is back and we are 0-0 and there is the development of some key young players that I am very interested in seeing in regular season action. That brief high will probably be knocked down to 1 by October though.
    • I think the preseason performance has caused a "Meh" Cloud  to hover over the fan base.  I still have some interest and while I don't expect a lot of wins, I think there are other things I would like to see in terms of the team at least going in the right direction. On offense is Bryce the guy and is XL moving forward? Is the defense performing better with DB back Are the rookies and 2nd year players developing? That said, for me there is some intrigue but I don't think they will compete for a playoff spot.
    • Well just a few years ago they went to the playoffs and won a playoff game with Daniel Jones at QB. And while the Giants have been up and down at best since their last Super Bowl they have shown to be a more competent organization. While the Panthers haven't so much as sniffed the playoffs in nearly a decade. Logic would dictate that the Giants strategy has a high probability to be at least modestly successful. The Panthers? Eh.
