James Bradberry

Forty-Eight

Recommended Posts

Is overrated as hell. Makes a bunch of good plays and then a bunch of bad plays. He doesn’t make enough great plays. Plays that can change the entire game.  Anyone that is wanting to give him 14 plus mil a year is stupid. If we hire Greg Roman as HC, Roman will replace Bradberry with Jimmy Smith.

Bradberry's completion against percentage was 44% in 2018; it is 64% in 2019, fwiw.  We have one of the strongest pass rushes in the NFL---so there is reason for concern.

I hate agreeing with Forty-eight because he is impulsive, emotional, and rarely uses any data to support his wild accusations, but if you want to use 2019 as a barometer (all 14 games), he has been slightly below average, but he has 3 picks.

I don't think Bradberry is great, but I think he's solid. He also has increased value for us because he just so happens to be the type of CB who matches up favorably with the elite #1 WRs of our division rivals. He's always going to have issues against speedy twitchy WRs. That's why we need Jackson to pull his head out of his ass. He has to be able to handle those guys or we have to find someone who can.

And he suck at it

Mind boggling.  Dude has locked down almost every star receiver in the league.  Has he been beaten?  Uh yeah, but have you seen the WR just in our division?  His weakest matchups are in practice every week.  Jones/Ridley, Thomas/Ginn, Evans/Godwin.  Thats 6 games every year.

"Hey James, how about you not suck and goose egg Julio?  Bum!"  Thats what you sound like.

I think it's about the same as the Huddle's overall measure of this mythical "#1 WR". Basically, you have to be a Canton-bound all-time great to qualify.

Still not good enough (sarcasm). There are very few true shut down corners in the NFL. It's gotten so hard to defend receivers with the rule changes to offense and now with replay for PI its damn near impossible to be shut down. That's why safety has become so important. Those guys have to be able to help and we just don't have those guys. When you make it so your CBs know they aren't going to get help in time, you can expect them to make mistakes trying to gain a minute advantage. Bradbery isn't all world, but he's not all suck either and we've seen he can be better than most.

This organization has never given a single fug about the safety position. The next safety we draft in the 1st round will be the first in the history of the organization.
