2019 draft is gonna go down as Hurneys worst ever

Nope, but its a lot easier to get better players and the one's you want if every other team in the league hasn't already picked over the talent corpse.

Except in 2011 when we picked at the top of every round, yet after Newton got nobody worth keeping.

That we got Newton out of that year but nobody to help him out is  pretty much a reflection of Hurney's overall team building.

There are plenty of GM's who seem to do it well. I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish here. A horrible draft is a horrible draft regardless of what kind of qualifiers you try to add to it.

Indeed, a horrible draft is a horrible draft.

But you have to work a lot harder to be horrible to have a horrible draft when you are picking Top 6 to 8 every round than you do when you are picking 31st.

That is well and truly horribleness on a LEGENDARY scale... especially when you consider said legend has achieved it in multiple drafts in his history.

    • I never thought a second look was even necessary. I was begging the football gods not to have us trade up to the 1st pick. And damn once we did it was a thoroughbred vs a little pony.    If you have a perceived generational player in the pool and you have the 1st pick, you just don’t trade it. In the first place. But all this Bryce drama - which (understandably) takes over almost any thread, just like this one - would never have happened if the team was not sold to Tepper.
    • I agree. I understand why he did though. And surely he had his parents in his ear who have always gone out of their way to make sure he always had the best and the least amount of adversity around him to that point in his life advising him to do so. Where I take the most issue with it is when people who just want to be sycophants start listing off other QB's who didn't throw at the combine and you don't even make it through half the names before your eyes roll right into the back of your head realizing every single of those QB's who didn't throw already clearly showcased the necessary prerequisite physical talents needed for the position.
