Why Mike McCarthy was interviewed after the Colts game

Class is now in session:

The West-Coast Offense should actually be termed the Crab Cake Offense. Why? To pay homage to where the schematics of that system originate from. Baltimore, MD - home of the best crab cakes in the universe - home of the original Colts franchise. Baltimore Colts.

Here is an old ESPN article written by Steve Young - http://static.espn.go.com/nfl/s/westcoast/popularity.html

"..Sid also told me about Johnny Unitas' footwork. Even though there was no such thing as the West Coast offense when Unitas played, he was probably the original West Coast quarterback, because he and Raymond Berry tried to sync up their plays from a timing standpoint.."

The Carolina Panthers founder, Jerry Richardson, was a player on the Baltimore Colts, and in the 1959 NFL Championship Game caught a TD from Johnny Unitas in a win. Johnny Unitas, is the original West-Coast QB.

Unitas came up with the ideologies for such an offense, Walsh named it, and popularized it. If you take a look at the Bill Walsh coaching tree you will find many familiar names including Mike McCarthy ...

One thing I don't completely understand is that - if you are a coach in a Bill Walsh coaching tree, then why aren't you running a West-Coast Offense? There are many names in this tree that don't run a West-Coast Offense, why not? Why wouldn't every coach in his coaching tree not want to copy Walsh? Why did John Fox decide he wanted to be a defensive Head Coach - he was in the Walsh tree - why would he not be an offensive guy?

My only guess is that the NFL limits on how many coaches they let teach an authentic West-Coast Offense, because of how legendary it is - or as we've learned, the offense Johnny Unitas created.

Mike McCarthy, however, is one of the coaches in the Walsh tree that does teach the West-Coast Offense. He's from Pittsburgh. Johnny Unitas is from Pittsburgh. Tepper is from Pittsburgh. Jerry Richardson, Panthers founder, who caught a TD from Unitas, always said Pittsburgh was his model franchise. See how everything is perfectly orchestrated here?

McCarthy runs the Unitas offense, who played for the Baltimore Colts, who the Carolina Panthers founder played for. That is why news came out after the Colts game that we had interviewed Mike McCarthy, because in he runs what the old Baltimore Colts ran with Johnny Unitas.

Feb. 2011 - Panthers had just hired Rivera. Meanwhile Mike McCarthy has the Packers running an offense Johnny Unitas would be proud of. The West-Coast Offense is based on footwork and timing, Rodgers and McCarthy won the Super Bowl against who else but the Pittsburgh Steelers. Tepper, McCarthy, and Unitas hometown. Running the old Baltimore Colts offense Unitas came up with.

For this all to work out like it has, Cam would have to be injured. The Panthers would have to enter a prolonged losing stretch for Rivera to lose his job. If Cam was healthy there is no chance the Panthers could be bad enough to fire Rivera. A healthy Cam will always make you at least a six seed, regardless of what is around him. Cam had to fake injury to play bad, or not at all, so that Rivera could be fired and McCarthy could be hired. Yes, that is not a real cast on Cam's foot. No, Cam did not have foot surgery. Yes, this is all staged.

Yes, McCarthy is the next Panthers Head Coach .. Cam is going to be putting up monster numbers and largely delegating the work to other players on offense, unlike under Rivera where Cam's stats wouldn't be beautiful but they got the job done, because Rivera is a dinosaur. With McCarthy Cam will actually be doing less, but having way more cool looking passing stats.

Cam Newton was drafted by the Carolina Panthers because of Huey P. Newton, founder of the Black Panthers in Bay Area, California. The 2015 NFL season was the 50th anniversary of Huey's Black Panthers .. Super Bowl 50 was in Bay Area, CA and featured MVP QB Newton because of Huey P. Newton.

Tepper, McCarthy and Cam are going to bring rings to Charlotte. Thanks to Jerry Richardson's friend who invented the West-Coast Offense, Johnny Unitas. The whole outrage with Jerry Richardson and his "Jean Day Friday" was all staged too. Couldn't you tell by how Jerry Richardson had the exact perfect person to buy the team. Jerry Richardson could not have sold the Panthers to somebody that he preferred more, selling it to Pittsburgh Tepper could honestly not have been scripted any better.

It should also be noted that Bill Walsh was known to be obsessed with a QB's feet ... footwork, and timing, are the two keys of the West-Coast Offense .. the offense Richardson's teammate, Unitas, came up with ..

Now it makes sense Cam has a fake foot injury. Foreshadowing the coming of the McCarthy West-Coast Offense (really Unitas offense - Richardson's teammate), that revolves around footwork.

Just now, Mr. Scot said:

Yeaaaahhh...Uuuhhh, Johnny Unitas didn't invent the West Coast Offense...or any offense.  He never coached.

The West Coast Offense that McCarthy runs is attributed to Bill Walsh.

Steve Young "..even though there was no such thing as the West Coast offense when Unitas played, he was probably the original West Coast quarterback.."

Bill Walsh only named it. Unitas came up with the scheme behind it. It's an accepted fact. Unitas created what is the WCO.

Riiiiight.

That's a mighty powerful lack of reading comprehension you've got going there.

    • Yuck.  I still kind of like Herbert but these playoff performances are rough....
    • I feel like this was the case with River and McDermott defenses as well, we just had the jimmies and the joes to overcome these deficiencies with all pro players at edge and linebacker positions.  Even then, was extremely frustrated in 2015 when we'd let team come back from 20+ pt deficits playing prevent only to barely win at the end.
    • We need to move on soon and just use Bryce as a bridge to find our next guy. I'd like to see how this offense works with Canales hand picking his own guy. Bryce holds this offense back a lot considering you draft the first pick to carry your team and be your best player. We invested heavily for Bryce and need everything to go right just to have him look like a solid game manager sometimes. When he plays well he can look decent or mid, but when he plays bad he looks like a bottom 5 qb in league (backups included). It's not worth it, especially if we need to pay him soon, which means we have to skimp all over the roster. If the defenses don't hand it to us on a silver platter Atlanta style then we struggle big time. Defenses don't respect the offense at all. With Cam we could have the worst offensive talent and I'd still think we had a shot in any game we played. If Bryce is facing a 3rd and 10 I pretty much wave the white flag and don't think we can make that first down.
