Memories of the Past Decade

Panthers.com: Top Ten Moments of the 2010s

Funny to think but when we started this decade, John Fox was the head coach, Jerry Richardson was the owner and Marty Hurney was the GM.

Two of those mistakes have been corrected, at least.

i mean hey 2013 and 2015 were fun times

2017 was fun too till we got robbed by the refs in the wildcard, and hell even though we werent all that good in 2011 there was a lot to be excited for and cam was young and electrifying

besides that though, its been pretty damn ref with all the bullshit that we've been subjected to by the league,  by our management and just fate itself

This decade produced some great moments but also some awful ones.  I’d add winning the division three straight times and watching TD resurrect his career after three acl tears as a few more good ones. As for the awful:

-The Richardson revelation

-Greg Hardy

-Letting Steve Smith go

-Super Bowl 50

-San Fran wrecking us in the playoffs

-Cams car wreck

-Luke’s Concussion

-TD’s knee injuries

-Saints sweeping three games in 2017

-Marty hurneys post first round drafting.

i'd add the dismantling of a super bowl team in 2016 to the list as well

For me, it is Thanksgiving 2015. I've been a Panther fan since the beginning but moved to Dallas in 1996 after college. I would go to the occasional game when we played New Orleans (7 hour drive) but seldom got to go to Panther games. I took my oldest son with me to watch the Panthers dismantle Dallas in Jerry World.

Had a real bookens effect here, for certain.

We were terrible when the decade started, and we were terrible when it ended.

And peaked in the middle.  Poetic, or tragic, or something.

After 25 years I guess it is part of being a Panthers fan.  Some really good highs that never last, but thankfully neither have the really bad times for an extended period.

I hope in 10 years we look back on 2018-2020 as being the down before the rise and sustained success

The energy in BOA during the 2nd half on the 2015 NFC Championship game was almost on a spiritual level.

It was amazing being there live.  Listening to Cam's primal scream of ecstasy during the post-game interview while the crowd chanted "MVP" is forever seered into my memory as one of the greatest sports moments ever.

It was the highest of highs followed 2 weeks later by the lowest of lows.  I never envisioned us losing that game.

It sucked and still does.  2003 was magical, but it was so awesome just to have that playoff run and get to the Super Bowl.  I was disappointed that we ultimately got so close, but I knew going in we were massive underdogs.

2015 seemed like a year of destiny.  It's hard to forgive Rivera & Shula for their lack of adjustments and then Gettleman for his arrogance in dismantling that team following the season.

I thought 2015 was going to be the start of a long, dominant run. Winning seasons, division championships, possible Super Bowl runs, the whole nine yards.

Since then, outside of 2017, lots and lots of disappointment.

Four years later and we've got, what, half a dozen players left from that squad? Next year it won't even be that many.

Sometimes it's hard to even understand how we got from there to here.
