Browns is McDaniels dream job.

Among McDaniels' many problems is that when he had a lot of control, he imploded in record time.  His only "good time" is when he is under the control of a strong HC and a long-time, legendary QB.

And what he says he wants is more control?

Giving him any amount of control is about like giving my ex-wife an Amex card with a $30k credit limit.  It won't take very long for either of those situations to turn out badly.

As of now, so are the Panthers. Hurney's role still remains undefined, and would have to assume any one of these coaches being interviewed would be afforded the opportunity to bring in their own FO personnel.

McDaniels in Carolina could turn out to be Belichick 2.0 or just the second act of his Broncos fiasco.

The spectrum is that wide.  Nobody (not even here in the huddle) knows for sure.

If McDaniels does end up taking the Panthers job, I'd like to believe one of his first decisions would be to terminate Marty Hurney's services, so he's got that going for him.

McDaniels is believed to want to take Patriots Pro Personnel guy Dave Ziegler with him.

I doubt that translates to an assistant to Marty Hurney job.

Why?

Cause Marty called him a cheater on the radio?

No, because Marty has an long and extensive record as the Panthers GM from which we can judge his performance, which is less than adequate.

Josh McDaniels is a hot commodity in the NFL.  Josh won't put his future as HC into the hands of the likes of Marty Hurney.

Breer offered his prediction on NBC Sports Boston’s “Early Edition.”

“If he’s offered the job in Carolina, if he’s offered the job in Cleveland and the structure is right, he will go,” Breer said. “And I don’t say that with much hesitation. I do not think staying here is a consideration if things are right in either of those two places. I can tell you that he’s already lining up staff.  https://www.boston.com/sports/new-england-patriots/2020/01/02/josh-mcdaniels-panthers-browns-coaching-job

That's gonna be awkward.

But more because McDaniels wants his own guy, and an awful lot of control (something Tepper seems willing to give him).

Bummer, I was really hoping to see Marty get PWNT outta the building.
