Even Mills?

His dad will forever be a Panthers legend, and I'm thrilled we helped him get started on his career. But it's past time we hired people only on the basis of their competence to perform the job for which they are hired and not because of any emotional attachment to them.

He stayed on during that last transition.

Of course he had a friend that sponsored jeans day... tough call.

While I think Tepper works to be respectful of Panther traditions, it's true that he wasn't around to actually know Sam Mills.

I normally view these things in an emotional vacuum, but I won't lie. Sam's son is the last tangible connection the team has with him. Losing him would sting.

Yep it might sting but it's time for all these mediocre people to leave.

If Mills is a coach the new staff wants to retain on his coaching credentials, great. I'd welcome it. If the new coach feels there's a better fit, then oh well.

New coach might not get the choice if he follows Rivera before we finish the hiring process.
