Nothing near this severe will happen to the patriots. Kraft has too much power and influence in the inner circles of the NFL.

Considering Kraft is going to probably get off of a federal prostitution indictment that tip toes around sexual slavery and human trafficking with out as much as a slap on the wrist; I’m sure he isn’t the least bit concerned about His football team caught breaking rules for the third or fourth time.

I do a LOT of sports betting. Baseball is by far the most lucrative sport to bet on.

Before betting baseball, it was as boring as they come for me. But since I started seriously betting, baseball is the second most exciting sport to watch.

Having watched so much, I would genuinely enjoy it without betting now. It really is a chess match and you learn to appreciate it immensely

There are a ton of things that if you got invested in it and grew to know the finer points you would appreciate it in a different way.  Hell, due to my wife’s passion for the subject, I was forced to step up my “purse game.”  Now its interesting as hell to me.

For me baseball would be more fun to watch if they didn’t play so many dang games.  But that being said, one of the things that makes MLB what it is...is the fact you have to be a little better than other masters of your craft day after day after day after day for an insanely long time.  In some ways it reminds me of NASCAR.  Perfection in the short term is expected.  The sport is geared towards figuring out who can maintain near perfection for the longest.

Holy poo, the Astros were fined 5 million, they lose their 1st and 2nd round picks for 2020 and 2021, and their manager and GM are suspended for one year. Now this is how you punish a team that cheats. What will happen to the Patriots? Probably a small fine.

As College teams that are cheaters are forced to forfeit wins so should the Astros AND Red Sox. Dodgers should receive the World Series trophy in both instances.

This is getting...uuummm...

I am an unapologetic fan of Tom Brady and the furthest thing from a conspiracy theorist but I believe the rumor that Brady has always had something similar taped to his ankle and would be buzzed by Ernie Adams (or someone else) when there was blindside pressure coming.

Always wondered how Brady could seemingly sense what he couldn't see better than anyone else in the league and always get rid of the ball like he did at the last second. Not sure if it will ever come out or not, but I think it could be a thing. Still a Brady fanboy regardless.

Now excuse me while I slip back into the darkness before rising from the abyss to post a thoughtful perspective on some other very random topic in a couple of months.

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
