Good for Luke.

If you could somehow duplicate his singleminded drive, dedication, and focus in another athlete, they could be allpro with just half the talent.  Any player coming into the league who wants a map to greatness , should look at Luke as the beacon to follow.

I’m sure he’ll get a large portion of that out of respect.

I don't think so.

He gotten a large amount of money due to the restructures over the last couple of years. The 21M remaining is base salary that is paid out if he plays. Since he isn't, I doubt seriously that he sees that money.

That's not a slight on Luke, it's just a result of his retirement.

The best I have ever seen at that position.

Hats off, hate to watch you go, but happy you get to do it on your terms.  A little sad he won't be back out there, but happy that we got him for as long as we did.

See you in Canton Luke, I'll be there.

I went to the Hall of Fame Game the year the Panthers played in it. I watch the induction speeches every year.

Can't imagine what it'd be like seeing Luke give one. Admittedly, it's not like he's the world's greatest public speaker :)

He would probably just break down the offensive schemes of the other inductees on the fly, forcing them to audible into their speeches on cleaning your room that normally goes to their kids.

Most folks will remember Luke Kuechly for his play in the field. But I will remember him as this guy I knew nothing about but knew everyone was excited about at the draft party. I was in Perrcussion at the time and he had just given his introductory speech in the parking lot at Bank of America stadium. I had just put my drum away and was walking out of the locker room when I noticed the young normal looking dude we just drafted standing with a couple of other people trying to figure out where the exit was to the players lot. He had never been here before. I opened a door to the hallway leading to the exit that passes the top cats locker room and the three of them kind of stepped through with me. He stayed a little behind which put him next to me and it was just the two of us. At first I was a touch nervous because I know nothing about this dude other than my wife wants to have his babies lol and most of the other college football fans thought he was this superstar. Me, I didn’t have a clue. But I knew he was a panther and that meant a lot to me. We didn’t say anything the whole walk. When we got to the exit to the front lot where all the people and stage were I went to press the button to the intercom to ask to be let out. He finally spoke. “Is this the way out of the stadium?” This is a dude that was about to become one of if not the most treasured LB in the NFL and he was just this humble guy who was obviously excited about his new surroundings. I told him he can go out this way but he would probably be mauled by all the women out there including my wife lol. I pointed him to the exit that leads through security to the players lot and he said thanks and went on his way. I didn’t even shake his hand. I just thought to myself that he didn’t even look like a pro football player. He was just a normal, average dude. When you stand next to these guys, usually they dwarf you. He did not. But that dude was nice. He was humble and he was down to earth. He was one of those guys you just get a good vibe from when you meet him. I didn’t know at the time what he would become to this sport or this city but I am honored to have at least helped him find his way around for a bit. I will truly miss watching this man on the field and I hope he has an awesome new venture in life that rewards him for the awesome guy he was in the Carolinas both on and off the field. Cheers Luke.
