PSL Owners Losing Seats for Luxury Suites

I understand making changes but ditching a live crowd in the endzone for a box seat is garbage. Are the players going to give the football to the youngest cheese plater? Not a good look. Of all of the places to convert and they choose the one thats positive and heavily kid involved.

Just now, Mr. Freezy Pop said:

It’s probably like leather reclining seats closer down on the field like other teams do.

That’s not bad then. But I can understand people being pissed with they’re seats getting taken. Hopefully the Panthers do something for those people

There was some paperwork released last week regarding this. Some demolition work being done inside the tunnel, and it was pretty clear they were going to be pushing back a few of the front rows for a new set up. I figured it would be something similar to what New England or Atlanta had in terms of field level suites. I would hope that existing PSL holders get some type of compensation.

Looks like less kids will be getting footballs from Cam if he comes back. Unless, ya know, there’s going to be a wealth of kids running around in these new luxury suites. (Yes, I understand that’s not a huge business consideration. Just making a general observation. Hell, he could just give the ball away on the sidelines.)

    • So what are "the people" paying for when they give money to a rich dude for a sports ball situation?  The brand and prestige of a sports ball team.  It's the hallmark of a big city to be able to do that.  There is a pretty terrible ROI on public dollars into private enterprise, period.  But governments continue to do it for the image associated with it. Since I live outside of CharMeck, it doesn't affect me much.  I love my Panthers.  They have been part of my life since they announced the team in the early 90s.  My parent's names are on one of those Panther statues.  Some of my best memories with my family and friends come from that stadium.  But on the flip side, could CMS use the $650 million?  What about public housing?  Streets?  Parks & Rec?  There are a lot of other places that $650 million could go. But in our modern society, I bet that after much hemming and hawing, the money will come.  Areas of the budget will suffer.  Some taxes will increase, but that's how things work in our society.  Charlotte is not willing to lose the Panthers.
