Yeah because people like you want to pretend race is completely not a factor when it comes to Newton.

Yes the fug it is.

If you broad brush everyone with the push button response, then the crying wolf syndrome ensues.  Nobody takes you serious because everyone is a racist.  You need to discern a bit better.  If I call for Luke to be traded because of his risk, its okay, if I call for Cam to be traded for the same reason, its not okay.

Understand how some use race, but not everyone.  Just don't push the button until its called for.

You aren't wrong there.

I digress, don't want to get banned or have this thread tinderbox bound, but in that forum I may create a thread with a thesis on this topic.

Think they have a football related thread there, not sure why, but might be a spot for it.

This is your push button response to any thread about anything.  Get confronted with logic you don't like, push your button

When someone spends ten years constantly moving the goal posts for a player who brought their favorite franchise relevancy after a season like 2010, only to turn around and compare a first year quarterback who finished as one of the worst graded signal callers in the league only to hall of famers, that is going to be questioned.

If you have a problem with it you are welcome to return to your faux news bubble. No one is forcing you to be here.

Then why don't you question it?  Why do you ALWAYS go to race?  You seldom even talk football here, you are constantly involved calling or insinuating stuff.  Some guys might deserve it, but you seem to throw caution to the wind and assume way too much.

Not so fast....

Based on this article:  https://www.wsoctv.com/news/north-carolina/panthers-owner-tepper-says-no-decision-yet-on-future-of-cam-newton/1010146140/

what has happened to change this position?

Cam says he needs to get back to 100%.  So does Tepper.

However, he is a bargain at QB right now if healthy--and he probably has no trade value---so why not hold onto him for a year?  You can cut him at any time if he has not recovered.  I do not see the downside for the Panthers to want him to play here in 2020.

If we rebuild, we are going to have a lot of cap room because we will have a lot of first contracts.  Cam's salary is probably not going to be an issue.

Let's say he plays well in 2020.  Healthy and has a 2015 season.  Front load a 3-year extension and let a young QB develop.  You build the OL and D--add a WR, CB, etc.  You are set to bring in the future at QB.

So there are a lot of variables, and I just explained the best case scenario.  The team will still watch him throw in March--before the draft---so in my mind, they simply gave Cam reassurances under the condition that he is healthy---

Does that mean we are building the team around Cam---NO. How STUPID would it be to say that now?  Very.  It is a one-year "prove it" deal--at least in theory.

A voice of reason and well said.

Well, I am using logic in my reasoning.

Why would one want to take a chance on Kyle Allen, and continue piling up excuses on why we shouldn’t give up on him, but at the same token, in 2012 want to give up on Cam so quickly? Kyles numbers were worse than Cams, and the inaccuracy label that Cam got isn’t placed on Kyle.

Lets finally get to the bottom of it. What makes Kyle different?

Again, you use your opinion as fact and then proclaim yourself a victor.  Sad--you just illustrated the points I made about you. The stats, the record--nothing said franchise qb-- intangibles? --since when did they replace Ws and rings?--and you know that.  If you think a losing record, 58% completions, and 29 interceptions in 32 games spells, FRANCHISE, then that is your opinion, but it is reason enough for me to dispute it.  Damn son.  2012 must have been a rough year for you.

Dude back then young qbs took about 3 years to flourish.

How were Peyton Manning’s stats after his first two seasons? In fact, Cam was one of the few quarterbacks to have success early.

Everyone was so sick that our season was over, there were probably quite a few overreactions to Kyles initial success.  I cannot speak for the person making those claims.  I mentioned to use square wheels when he was winning and not to even be enamored till after at least 4 games.

Kyle took advantage of defenses who were geared to stop CMC and was very accurate early on.  But then defenses changed and he seemed to panic.

If someone wants to stick with Kyle or Cam at this point, it needs to have reasons attached.

If someone said early on that a black QB cannot succeed in the NFL, then yeah, they should be called out.  But if someone says that Cams mechanics need work, or that Jake has happy feet and they both throw high, it doesn't on its face mean that racism is to blame for the criticism.

I don't want to jump into this *stupid* thread killing argument. I'd say, take it outside boys.

But the short, correct answer to your question is that Kyle was healthy and Cam was not.
