I'm Not Sure What's So Hard to Understand

I definitely agree that we mishandled a good bit of Cam's tenure here but the new owner and staff are asking us to trust the current process. How would you have had Tepper, Hurney and Rhule handle Cam's future with us moving forward?

Frankly the way its been handled is probably the most realistic route I am just a bit salty about the entire debacle. However, it has taught me to keep my expectations tempered. End of the day I am on the outside trying to look in and will just hope for the best. I remember fuming the day we "wasted" the #1 pick on Cam and I was pleasantly surprised. Hopefully a similar result takes place.

Well you rarely see a tree bear fruit from a stump, so I would probably get a chair.

If you haven't noticed this has been a bad team for a few seasons now.   It's been circling the bowl for two seasons and it's finally flushed.  It's time they became a good team.  Will they become one?  Time will tell.

They flushed but that turd Hurney didnt go down.

The former coaches and players couldn’t win back to back seasons..this is to be expected. Any business venture that can’t produce usually has “changes” to adapt and find sustained success. I’m not the biggest fan of Hurney..and don’t like how the Cam Newton situation is playing out. However, painful as these decisions are, they are necessary for us to find out sustained success. We are a growing franchise that’s maturing. I see this is as the next step in our evolution.

Let's be honest here. This team never addressed the needs of the TEAM the entire time Cam has been here. Over doing the tall WR thing with KB and Funch. Not giving Cam a damn line. Not going after quality free agents to the point "shopping at Dollar General" is now a normal thing to say. When did this organization ever spend any real money on offense except at the last minute to get a crappy LT in Kalil? The money has been spent on the defense and in dead money. How can you ask how people are flipping when they make dumbass moves like cutting Eric Reid or moving Trai Turner? We are the leaders in dead cap now with stupid stupid moves such as these. Last year was a year full of knee jerk reactions by the front office. This offseason looks no different and on top of that, they alienate the greatest QB this franchise has ever had, bar none, as well as a few other great players in Davis and Olsen. A team doesn't need 5 years to be a contender. They just need good leadership. If you've been watching the NFL for a while, that should be obvious. Just look around the league.

Five year processes don't exist in the NFL. You have damn near 100% roster turnover every five years in the NFL. Just look at our current roster vs. our 2015 SB roster.

Yep.  If it doesn't happen within 3 years, its not gonna happen.  And in all likelihood if a there isn't a good push towards competing in year 2...its not going to happen.  The 5 year plan is dead in the NFL, unless that plan includes firing and starting over with a new coach.

I knew this was going to be a bumpy ride. I just didn't expect them to disrespect Cam they way they have. The writing was on the wall but to not even hold a press conference, or make a video like they did with Luke and Rivera? That's just down right wrong. Yeah it's a business but I believe Cam earned the respect of this organization and the city. It's not much to ask. Also why by Coy? You weren't going to keep him why the fug would you make fluff pieces and flat out say you're moving forward with him. Man up and just say you ain't and move on. Just like you did with Rivera. That's my biggest problem with the team right now.

Maybe the plan was to roll with Cam but he started acted like a bitch about contract negotiations.  He didnt deserve a contract imo so if he was threatening not to play you gotta cut him loose
