Where has Worley been? I didn't think he was playing last year.

He’s been a starting CB for the Raiders the last two seasons and actually played well. I believe he out ranked our guys at PFF.

Yep, just looked. Worley was 64, Bradberry 61, Cockrell 57 and Donte 55.

Just another example of the Panthers not seeing value in front of them. I never felt like Worley was a great player, but I thought he was a nice piece of the puzzle. He played his role and did it at an acceptable level. Neither great not terrible. Those are the types of players you need on a team because you realistically can't run around with NFL stars at every position. And how much did Worely get paid vs the FAs we brought in to replace him?

He wasn’t but he was thrown to the wolves and wasn’t ready to be a starter. He’s going to bounce around and he’ll never be great but seems like he at least got his head screwed back on right and played well enough to keep his career going. I wouldn’t still want him but it’s not a good thing comparatively that our guys last year weren’t as good.

Oh yeah, I don't think he's a guy I want starting. I'd love to have him as a depth guy in the system who could play on certain nickle and dime packages, or spell the #2 guy for a breather and situations like that.

The reason I think we should and will sign a veteran CB. This is not about 'Rivera-ing' them and just be spectators from the sidelines the entire game, but start off with a set amount of snap counts and slowly increase them.  I think Pride has the potential to see a good bit of action this year as the season goes on. Oliver, however, needs to contribute on STs and get some snaps periodically and increase them as he progresses.

Still a ton of time to sign a veteran CB. It's not like the season is tomorrow! I could even see them waiting until training camp and the Preseason and seeing how the young players they have work out. If they suck they might sign someone cut from another roster or make a trade, who knows.

Come on @45catfan, players are way more exciting when you wonder how good they could be while holding a clip board on the sideline for 15 of the 16 games a season. And of course, have that 1 game where they get in for 3 snaps and look half-way decent.

@Madwolf you guys know he was traded due to character concerns right? Then shortly after cut by the eagles after being arrested for being combative with a police officer.... then a year later arrested for a DUI....

    • I'm probably one of those posters, but I make those posts because there are too many things going on that don't make sense. For instance, how does a RB that does something that hasn't been done in 14 years immediately get reverted back to 2nd string, and it takes a leadership council to make him the starter when he's averaging 3x the YPC? Your average fan shouldn't be screaming that for 2 weeks before the coach sees it. And that's one of many.  What you're seeing is frustration that we could be better, that we should be better, if our owner, FO, and coaches could do things that are so painfully obvious to even the most basic fan
    • Cowboys. Patriots. Couldn't ask for two bigger villains.
    • I think we're all struggling with what things are right now and what they have been. It's like getting ready to have bandages removed after a long period of injury. The healing, the new growth, they aren't going to be pretty, there's going to be some ongoing issues for a while at best and there's every chance that we're going to have to go back into the bandage situation all over again. And that sucks. But it's also a place where maybe, just maybe, the recovery is going to finally start happening. The bad days will be getting behind us.  It's not going to happen this year, but I believe from what I see that this year is showing that improvement. We focus on the QB because that's what all the pundits focus on, because it's the flashiest and most heralded position on the field. No one wants to put out a tweet about how a center is holding down their job and anchoring a line. They rarely celebrate that blocking tight end or special teams gunner. That fourth CB on the depth chart? Not a mention. And yet, those guys are the kind that we've been building here, we're building the lunch pail guys AND finding some future stars.  Is Bryce one of them? Might be a cornerstone of the team in the future as the second QB, might somehow just show out to end the season. Might flame out like many expect. But if that uncertainty is all we concentrate on, we're just going to miserably look at this team and maybe miss out on some solid green shoots that are finally beginning to poke through into the sunlight.
