WOW!!

With the team in rebuild mode a few of these FA should make the team.. So who do you think will make it?

1. Branden Bowen  the Olinemen from OSU.. This story played out well for us before..

2. Chris Orr MLB UW.. college production is incredible.. Size and injury history hurt him..

3. Omar bayless WR Arkansas state.. Dominated the Sun Belt .. Great hands can high point the ball good size.. Speed and route running issues..

4. Rodney Smith RB Minnesota.. Best back in Minnesota history.. Age injury history is his problem.. Playing special teams will help him make it..

If you have at least 8 OL dressed on game days, teams can carry an extra two players...I expect an UDFA OL or two will make it.  Mauioga is still my guy.  Paradis is an average starting center and Larsen is a JAG.

Probably an LB or two as well.   WR is too deep this year for a UDFA WR to make it.  Bayless can go to the practice squad and develop.  We won't cut wideouts with proven NFL experience for a UDFA WR.

Who goes then?  I seriously doubt we carry 4 active RBs.  Mike Davis or Scarlett.   Same type of power running style.  Doubling down on those two makes little sense.

We to start a game for every time Mike Davis' name gets mentioned as a cut candidate, you have to drink an adult beverage.

I’m clueless on why Mike Davis is still on the team. He’s done nothing in his career and his making a big load of money

Since our LB depth is not very good at the moment I expect at least one of the 5 UDFA LB's to make the team. I'll go with Sam Franklin who Rhule recruited to Temple. He's 6'3'' 213 lbs and looks more like a safety than LB but fits our athletic profile for the position.

    • This was the first time I’ve seen him play. Very impressive guy. Does he play well within structure as well? You can’t live on out of structure play in the NFL.
    • But they exist in that space precisely because they were the outliers with big arms and other elite traits(especially athletically). I would never look past a sub 6 foot QB with a similar profile to those guys. That's basically what I mean. My list of prospects is never going to auto delete based on stature. It's definitely a reason to take a more in depth look to make sure they are going to translate. Bryce fooled me with his playmaking ability. I thought it was going to translate well, ignored all his throwing mechanics issues and gave more credit to his abilities than the superstar team around him. I am not going to do that again.
    • I agree but the 1 and a half guys that have fit is a small hit percentage. I agree the other stuff matters more. If Murray wasn't a dud between the ears it would be 2 and not 1 in that category. It's deffinatly not as high as ability, tools and skills.  Yeah really weak arm is a huge red flag. Paired with poor footwork should be a hell no.
