I'd probably put him closer to 20 but it's not egregious. They're also giving him a much better chance at being above average than bottom 5 suggesting he's got a decent floor.

But the real question is, what are the odds he outperforms Brees? With Brees alienating his teammates with his recent interview and at risk of finally showing his age, while Bridgewater appears to be on the rise and poised to succeed in Brady's scheme, honestly it wouldn't completely shock me if he put up better numbers. I'm not saying I would take a bet on it if the odds were equal but I find it far more plausible than their list would suggest, having Brees at 3 and Teddy at 24.

Teddy hasn't played a full season since his injury. His 5 game stint was impressive but so was Kyle Allen's first several games. Until he shows he can last a full season and play at a high level, it would seem that 24 is about right. I hope he kills it this year but honestly with so much uncertainty around even playing a season, it is impossible to know what is going to happen.  I don't think he will be as bad as some folks on here think. But I am hoping the scheme will help him a lot.

You're evolving into a straight up troll. Dak damn near threw for as many TDs last season as Teddy has in his entire damn career.

Due to extenuating circumstances Teddy hasn't had his fair chance.

I truly believe Big Time Teddy will outperform Dak from this point forward...

...let's just sit back and see what happens. 

Perplexes me as to why you'd be so irritated by someone taking a position that is constructive and supportive of a young man on the home team who is playing the most important position on the field and has only shown himself to be a class act his entire career....

....why?

Being a fan is fine. Arguing from a delusion  Al perspective is another. Teddy has never shown to be anywhere near Dak Prescott's level. It's embarrassing homerism. If Teddy puts up numbers equivalent to Dak's worst season he'll have a career year and we'll all be happy with his play.

I would put him about middle of the pack. I definitely hope that he comes in and absolutely tears it up. I would put the chances of that happening at a very slim chance. From my understanding, Teddy has had very little time to get to know his teammates. I would not be surprised if it is not middle of the season before Teddy and our receivers begin to get on the same page. I am 1 of the few that believe we are going to be a little better than what is it expected of us and I am very much looking forward to  see what kind of progress our coaches make with our players as the season goes on.

 

Also, since every thread regarding Drew Breese and his comments are getting locked, I state it here. Drew Brees kool, but fake. Drew said what he said only to get another conversation going. My opinion of course but I believe Drew Brees does not feel that way and he only said what he said to get the conversation going.

Kurt Warner was a grocery store checker...

...if a person was very optimistic when he got his real chance in the NFL but before he actually put in material time on the field, would you pigeonhole him/her as delusional?

I find you to be overly pessimistic and believe you're a Cam homer who is conflicted and can't independently evaluate Teddy due to a jaundiced eye...

...and you know what, that's OK.

Opposing views are what make a market -- I'm on one side of the trade and you are on the other, let's see which position proves itself over time...

Warner was immediately successful when he got a chance to play in the NFL though. He didn't bounce around from team to team starting here and there putting up pedestrian stats along the way.

I'm definitely a big Cam fan, but I understand why Teddy is here. He's a placeholder who knows our offense to bridge the gap to our next franchise QB.

I'm taking the other side of your trade.

You are completely dismissing the impact of Teddy's injury and how it delayed his progression.

You will be proven wrong about why Big Time Teddy is here, just watch.

Your pitfall is you don't understand how Tepper assesses value and pays for it accordingly... 

It's ok to have diametrically opposing views, relax fella!

      There are a lot of question marks surrounding TMo right now. There were whispers leading into the draft that the team was ready to move on due to a knee issue, but they came away with no real backup plan outside of BC. Maybe the knee isn't as serious as feared… or maybe it was just front office gamesmanship, like we saw with the Jalon Walker rumors. With Icky's second contract on the horizon, the team's probably hoping Moton is open to a team-friendly extension. His consistency over the years has been incredibly underappreciated. Hunt's grades dipped last season--particularly in pass pro, where he ranked 54th among guards with 500+ pass-blocking snaps. That's not ideal, but when you step back, it's still starting-caliber play. In the run game, he was more effective--posting the 14th-highest run-blocking grade among guards with 300+ run-blocking snaps. DLew, meanwhile, was a warrior. He played through a shoulder injury all season and still ranked 17th in pass-blocking + 10th in run-blocking under those same filters. Context matters here too... in terms of 2024 cap hits, Hunt was the 17th-highest paid guard at $6.45M while DLew was 25th at $4.9M. DLew absolutely outplayed the first year of his deal. Looking ahead, Hunt will carry the #3 highest cap hit among guards in 2025 at $21.65M, while DLew will be #10 at $14.57M. If DLew maintains that level of play and Hunt bounces back in pass pro? Oooh wee mayne. That said, decisions are coming. DLew can be cut in 2026 for $9M in savings, or in 2027 for $13M. Hunt is more locked in: his contract opens up flexibility starting in 2027 ($14.3M savings) and jumps to $18M in 2028. And then there's the biggest unresolved piece: center. Cade Mays looked solid when called upon, and Christensen didn't look out of place either. Corbett's durability is a fair concern... he hasn't been able to stay on the field the past two years. If Mays locks down the center job, I think the front office moves quickly to secure RT next. Once the bookends are in place, the interior OL becomes the next long-term focus. Hopefully, they're already developing some of those answers internally.
