Naw, I wouldn't trade Christian.

But, I agree with everything else you said. If you wanted to call a play to a different player, at least keep Christian in as a decoy on 3rd or 4th and short. And please at least try to get the ball to someone capable of making something happen with the ball in his hands. (DJ Moore, Anderson, or Samuel).

Alex Armah last week on 4th and 1

Mike Davis on 3rd and 3 today when you haven't even been able to put 3 points in a quarter and a half of play.

Coaches have some growing to do as well.

It’s going to be a long year. Why is everyone so negative all the time here?

People don’t get it, they go into every week surprised when we give up a third down conversion, mad when we give up a touchdown and then rage post when we have to punt or turn it over. We can’t control the outcome but we can control our expectations.

21-0 at halftime what are your positives

Maybe you will finally take a break from posting.  This forum can continue its cleanse of non stop complainers. We are headed towards getting a real QB in the draft. CMC hasn’t gotten hurt. We can see clearly now that we don’t need to invest in Curtis Samuel. I could continue but you don’t want to have a realistic conversation about stuff. You just want to complain.

If Ron were still here CMC would be taking extra hits in games like this where it isn’t needed. But we knew it was going to be a bad year long ago. Anyone going into this season thinking we were going to be good was lying to themselves.

I mean I knew we would be bad....but this coaching staff and QB are very highly paid and the team should at least show some fight every game and not get blown out. Losses like last week show some potential but losing 48-0 to the Bucs is like a top notch D1 team destroying a D2 school and that’s exactly what Rhule and the Panthers look like against a decent NFL team today....a D2 school

New coach,  offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, QB, inheriting the worst defense in football with a limited offseason during covid, drafting all defensive players because things were so bad last year and somehow you were expecting more than putting up 30 points in their first game together in one game and getting blown out in game 2 due to awful QB mistakes...

    • I think the book has been fairly written on Darnold, and by and large stays true. He can be rattled by pressure, and will lose his composure. If a team can get to him and have something go wrong in the plan, the mistakes and errors will pile up. Rams have a better offense, Seahawks sport a better defense. Should be a good 1.
    • Not a defense of him...an understanding of the problem. (something you seem to be lacking right now) 🙄 Bryce in a Canales offense is not an example of a stylistic mismatch, but I can give you one if that helps. When he was playing for the Panthers, Cam Newton sat under OC's running Coryell type offenses. Newton had a big arm and was a strong runner. He fit into that sort of attack very well. Then he goes to New England, where at the time they were running an Earhardt-Perkins system (similar to WCO In a lot of what they do but very different terminology). The Patriot offenses back then were heavily based on timing and rhythm style passing, not something that Newton was especially well suited for. So he washed out at New England, not because he had poor ability (his abilities had been on display here on a regular basis) but because he didn't fit what they wanted to do with their offense. I always go back to Jeff Garcia as one of the prime examples of this issue. Garcia in a WCO looked like a world beater. Put him in any other scheme though...yikes!  So again, Young's issues here have nothing to do with any failure to mesh with Canales. Hell, is say Canales has actually done pretty well at adapting his system to who he has rather than trying to jam square pegs into round holes. Again, it doesn't take an elite level of football knowledge to get this. It's pretty basic. But if you're not even capable of understanding what the real problem is, how are you going to know you to find the right solution? 🤔
