What does Fox like so much about Delhomme?

Yep, and Godfrey was the only option at safety because Martin is awful too.

Truth is Fox like to start vets. He hates taking chances. The only way Moore would ever get a start is if Jake is hurt. It has nothing to do with Moore.

This is especially true in the offensive skill positions. Rookie defensive players at least have a shot to start (Beason, Davis, Peppers). I can't remember us ever starting a rookie at any of the offensive skill positions except when Smith was hurt and Colbert had to start. And then Colbert started for years even when he was not productive.

Well, if Moore is a dumbass and has not proven anything in three years we should cut him, period. And if Jake is the QB that offers us the best chance of winning then we are in sorry-ass shape. We beat the Cardinals with Jake having what for any other QB would have been a horrible game; not many pass plays, a 50% completion average, you get the point. We can't have other teams defensive strategies be to pack the box and essentially dare Jake to throw it.

Maybe Moore does stink and Jake is the best option - but this team would be a definite playoff contender IMO if it weren't for our greatest flaw, the guy taking the snaps (fill in the name of whichever of our QBs you like here).

Delhomme hasn't had one good spell this season. He's had meltdown spells and not complete suck spells. All the QBs playing as badly as him have been replaced or are young QBs on bad teams. He's thrown a seasons worth of interceptions in under half a season and we are 30th in pass attempts. When in this season has he shown himself to be the best option? Even young QBs on horrible teams don't turn it over as much as him. Moore would basically have to be the worse starting QB in the league to make Jake look like the best option. What makes people think that would be the case considering the talent he would have to help him?

Your kinda Preaching to the quire here bud. I was just telling you why Jake still starts. The fact is we are stuck with him and Fox will live or die with Jake. Be happy, If Jake Fails and we dont make the plays offs Fox is gone. If Jake dose not fail and dose make the Playoffs you should be happy as well.

You know, it might just be that Fox understands that Jake has been in a slump and he knows that it's possible for a football player to go through a slump and then come out of it, even if fans don't. Remember about 4 years ago when everybody and their brother thought Kurt Warner was done as an NFL starting QB? He came back and Jake can too.

Besides that, it can't be said enough that Jake's teammates want him in there probably more than the HC does. Even Matt Moore saved the game ball for Jake after that Arizona win last week and has publicly stated that he's %100 behind Jake Delhomme.

Well when Warner was thought to be washed up he started bouncing from team to team until he got his groove back, Joke is still here. When a good game by Dulhomme is catagorized as 15 for 22 for 120 yds and no INT's we're fked.

Which of the 3 characteristics, defined by Fox, does Moore not have? Leadership, smarts, physical ability.... He might be timid as a leader but I dont discount him on smarts because our playbook isnt that complex and he's young and can move and throw the poo outta the ball. Moore has to push Dulhomme and if he cant, it makes Fox look moore (no pun intended) like an ass for putting up with hime for 3 years.

Don't get me wrong... I'll be watching the game and supporting the team, but if my dick is broke im going to go get some viagra...

Yeah, and WARNER WAS RIGHTFULLY BENCHED DURING HIS SLUMP.

Well, Jake was benched in week 1 and his back ups did nothing but get the hell beaten out of them.

Huh... he wasn't benched he was pulled when the game was outta reach and Fox didn't want him to get injured in a losing effort. I think Moore and Mccown played a hell of a lot better then Jake did anyway.

Seriously? Were you really impressed by how McCown dropped back and got squashed like a bug in about 2.5 seconds that day? Were you also taken aback by how Matt Moore was able to use his athleticism to last an extra .5 seconds longer in the pocket than Delhomme before he either got sacked, threw an incomplete pass, or an INT? Which one impressed you more? Was it all the TD's they didn't score or what?

Does anyone read my post before they start to diss them? Nowhere did I say I was impressed. I said they played better then Jake which isn't very hard recently.

    • Everyone knew the catch was secured and didn't move. That was clear to the entire audience. The only ones who thought it wasn't a catch were in the NYC home office. They knew they'd just offer an apology the next day.
    • NEVER FORGET!!!!   Canales was on no one's radar. Tepper couldn't get anyone to come here. He was all in on Ben Johnson. Nobody wants to work with Tepper, however Canales tenure may prove important for the next guy. This guy still has no idea what he's doing.
    • The 4th down play was poor execution by Chuba. He didn't want to get physical like Rico and cut North South to lean on his blocks from Tremble and Ekwonu for half a yard. Also, the 3rd down play before that Bryce audibled out to a QB run and almost got the 1st down was on Chuba for not knowing the play call leading to poor execution. You can see Chuba's confusion when Bryce had to realign him. Then Chuba thought he was getting the handoff and was slow to develop his double team on the DE with Tremble. Then Chuba hesitated on pushing the block and just ran to the sideline making Bryce have to loop around him. This pulled the DE away from Tremble forcing Chuba to chip on the DE late and leaving the safety as a free defender. Chuba was suppose to double down on the DE to let Tremble peel off to the safety. This allows Bryce to set up his run to the inside or outside after the safety commits. You can also see Tremble walk over to talk to Chuba after the play and Chuba shrugs which tells me he didn't know what to do. The audible would have worked on 3rd and the dive would have worked on 4th. The plays were good calls and drawn up well. The question is why was Chuba unprepared for those plays in two critical back to back plays? I like Chuba as a 1st down RB and passing downs, but I have always seen him lacking the power and vision to be a short yardage power back. Chuba didn't come prepared for the Saints game or he was thrown into a position at the 3 spot that he was never prepared for.
