Bump this thread every time Bridgewater doesn't throw it into the endzone

He just isn't that good. Accept it. And being attached to someone for 3 years who isn't that good rightfully upsets people.

I’ve never claimed he’s the answer. Accepting it and hating him 24/7 are two entirely different things. And those doing it are honestly verging on pathetic. Sorry if it hurts your feelings

I have nothing against Teddy but to me this just proves completion pct is a fake stat and more schematic than anything. He’s completing 3/4 of his throws but we only have 21 points

the throws short of the sticks on 3rd down are basically meaningless outside of the rare occasion it moves you into field goal range but he throws quite a few of them.

if anyone leaves here hating teddy for what he is it’s going to be a direct result of his fans trying to argue that he’s something that he very obviously is not. he seems like a nice guy, he’s a fine game manager, there is a place for him in the league. we can leave it at that. we don’t have to be dumb about it.

So drives stalling in the red zone are completely on him? That’s been a huge knock on us for the last few years long before Teddy was here and most everyone blamed Shula for that.

Considering he’s not even trying to throw into the endzone? A lot falls on him absolutely. He has to hang a bit longer and wait for stuff to open up. I mean, sure, he’s not turning it over but the QB has to improvise and make plays sometimes

this is it. he is derek anderson: well loved, a great team asset, can come in on a dime and cover for your starter, but you don't want an offensive system tailored around his weaknesses and you sure as hell don't want the franchise on his back.

This sounds like the same type of tone policing people made about legitimate criticisms around the president.

So let's just keep it simple? Are the criticisms legitimate?

In this case. Is he not a very good deep ball thrower?

How many touchdowns has he thrown into the end zone?

What did Teddy do to some of you? Jesus H, the dude has been turnover free today and has completed 76% of his passes thus far. Not his fault he doesn’t have our best weapon and Moore and Samuel have been taking a nap all game.

That's the thing...  it's not hard to throw 76% when you take ZERO risks.  If he actually took shots, that stat is amazing, but he barely ever looks to the depth of the safeties and thus, hamstrings our offense and forces into kicking 5 FGs instead of scoring TDs.

Hang a little bit longer and take a sack? I’m sure you’re breaking down the film as the game progresses but how are we sure that things will actually open up?

You guys are cherry picking. When Cam shortened up his throws and subsequently increased his completion percentage in 2018 no one batted an eye. Brees, Brady, and co. do it every game.

no, I'm not.  Cam still took shots and risks even with a bum shoulder.  Teddy has no excuse.

Cam was still able to make plays at all three levels and with his legs. The RB dump off was a safety blanket for Cam, not something he ever relied on

and when he reaches the red zone and the field shortens up suddenly he doesn’t look like that precision passer anymore

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
