Hmmm I don't see us going 6-10. I can see us beating

Minny

Atlanta

Denver

Lions

But not winning all of them

This is not a prediction--worse case scenario.  But I did the same thing.  I did not have us beating the Chargers.   Six is not out of the question on the high end of possible outcomes.

That would be the worst thing to ever happen to this organization.

It could--but how many teams over the past several years scrapped for QBs at the top of the draft, only to waste the pick and time?  So maybe--but I think we build the OL and defense and take our time finding a QB.  I don't think we win 6, but I think there will be 4-6 teams worse than us.

So weeks 10-16 are basically what are going to determine draft picks for the top of the draft besides NY.

If losing those games meant the difference from #2-3 spot to # 7-9, I’d find it incredibly stupid to put much effort into winning them.

Come April no ones is going to remember who is king of the giant pile of poo.

The problem will fix itself. Our defense is young and secondary is weak, so aside from a rookie QB making mistakes most teams are going to put up points against us. Knowing this if we still win 6 games or more that means Teddy is playing well with our offense and we won’t be in a desperate need for a QB. If one we like falls we take him if not O-Line, CB, Safety, Linebacker would all be great options. We just let the draft fall to us. If Teddy is below average, we won’t win many games with our defense and will be in prime position to draft our next QB.

Ive been saying this team will win 5 all preseason, and have been called all sorts of homerish names for it.  Now people see what I see, the team is not bad enough to compete with the really bad teams that are out there for the number 1 pick.  In years where there are real quality #1 QBs, getting the number 1 pick is almost as hard as winning the Superbowl.

Seeing your predictions, it looks as if we win 5 we will be in line for Lance, I'm okay with that.

If we win 6 games with this team I will kiss my own ass. Enjoy today because it won't happen much.

Yes.  Everything is new, we are actually watching preseason.  I want to see what we have.  Give Teddy an OL and a defense--well, last year he was 5-0 in that situation.  He suddenly gets better.  That is going to piss some people off, but QB is not our biggest need right now.  MLB, OL, FS, TE, and probably CB.  We have Teddy under contract for 2 more years--and he is playing fairly well with a bad OL.  Horrible OL.   So many fantasy/sofa GMs who do not know how to build a team for the long haul.  Who are the best QBs in the game today?  Rogers, Brees, Mahommes, Lamar Jax, Brady---none drafted in the first half of round 1.

Not really predictions, but possible.  I see 5.  This team will only get better--probably at a faster rate than other teams because all is new.

Everyone is treating this as a prediction--but I think this team will get better when they get familiar with each other, the coaches, etc.  6 is not out of the question.  Favor:  If we win 6 games, would you video tape your incredible contortionist-style flexibility?  I have not seen a good love story in a while.

I can say this---losing does more damage than most QBs do good.

losing every game maybe...but losing a few at the tail end of a rebuilding season with a new staff to go up almost 10 spots? I doubt it

also, 2010 actually didn’t do harm to the Panthers...and that was a blatant tank by JR, though from a business perspective than a draft pick (go figure)

    • Another thread where the Huddle melts down over a Bryce comment.  "Conversations" and "Bryce Young has been signed to a new long-term contract" are still far away from being the gospel.  For a fanbase that has watched two top-3 drafted QBs come here, and us move on, only to see them elevate their play elsewhere, I find it comical. Bryce is flawed but this org is damned if you do and damned if you don't with BY9.  Why would our GM and HC say anything other than supportive about their QB1. Yes, he's extended, but I truly do not think if he goes out and has a repeat of the previous seasons, that he is here beyond 2027. They're giving him every opportunity and surrounding him with a ridiculous amount of assets on both sides of the ball. If he continues to pitch 110 yd/ game and cough up the ball while everyone else is busting their ass, no way Dan keeps him beyond the extension.
    • Ooof, I was not a Proctor fan. I agree w/ a lot of smarter folks than me that he's more of a guard and think his weight fluctuation is going to be something to navigate. I liked Lomu a lot, but figured there would be more talented guys there at 19. I also wasn't big on bringing in a TE via the draft. If it's not a vet (Njoku) or a trade for Mayer or Kmet, I'd just as soon see what the youngsters have. No need cluttering the room with more of the same.
    • Sam Darnold & Bryce Young are two very different Qbs ..just saying the last 25 years approximately 2/3 of ALL  first round Qb's  in the NFL were or are bust.so for everyone who makes it like a Sam Darnold you have two that don't make it or are a bust
