I think he means he's a big guy therefore he should be a baller.  That's all I got.

Both his height and weight are in the sub-50 percentile for OTs at the NFL combine (actually his weight is just above at 50.7%). His vertical leap is in the 20th percentile. While you don't need your OT leaping, it's a decent indicator of lower body explosion. He's literally one of the least explosive OT prospects measured at an NFL combine, much less actually in the NFL. His 40 was 40th percentile. His shuttle was 53rd percentile. His best athletic traits were still middle of the pack for NFL OT prospects. It was thought that he was a very good athlete who just needed a lot of refinement in technique. The combine blew a massive hole in that narrative. It turned out he was a subpar athlete who needed a lot of refinement in technique.

Marty was playing Candy Crush at the combine. He already had his picks circles on his PFF print outs and just enjoyed a relaxing weekend.

I wish I could be mad, but I've seen enough Hurney 2nd round busts that this is completely expected. This is what most Hurney 2nd round picks look like. Let's just hope that Chinn keeps looking good.

My hope for Chinn is that Hurney was just a mouth piece at the draft and that the coaches handled the actual evaluation.

Seems likely. He probably glides by on his immense physical talents and then panics when he actually has to use something that he was too lazy to learn.

I remember how hard you were pimping that we liked him in the pre draft threads and how much most of us who watched the combine couldn’t stand him. We were so hoping you had bad info. We had a 2nd and two 3rds in a great interior OL draft and came away with nothing. Add in having a 2nd and 3rds in the prior draft and we got Donte.

I mean pre-Rhule, Marty had 6 day 2 picks and all we have to show for it is an average CB. There’s half the talent drain on the team right there. SMH. Why was he kept?

I actually almost feel that my time here on the Huddle is done.

Been trying to convince the posters here that Marty Hurney was indeed one of the very worst NFL GM's for some time now...hell, probably more than 10 years.

Might be time for me to hang my fingers up.

But Hurney is killing it?!

The bolded is terrifying, and totally believable with Marty at the helm.

Want to know why we don't have depth and our IOL is trash?  Look no further.

The 2nd and 3rd are so valuable for Centers, Guards, LB's, S's......just makes me want to throw up.

Yep, the meat of most rosters is built on mid-round picks. The few Hurney supporters that remain are somehow still blinded by his 1st round success. But GMing isn't about 1st round picks. Ultimately, the job of a GM is to build a winning roster and a team built to compete year in and year out. Making 1st round picks is just a small part of the overall picture. Hurney has utterly failed at the overall job of a GM his entire career.
