Was Michael Oher's injury the worst thing to happen to this team in the last decade?

The thread about how bad Little was got me thinking to the last time we had competent LT play -- Michael Oher in 2015. Was well above average in 2015 and then we extended him after the season. Only played 3 games in 2016 before his career was ended by a concussion that we still have very little details about. Insert Remmers at LT and we have a terribly disappointing SB hangover season, Cam initially hurt his shoulder that year which has haunted him since, and then after the season we signed Matt Kalil... If Oher stayed healthy, I think we would've made the playoffs each of the last 3 years (probably beat the Aints in 2017), and maybe even 2016 as well, and Cam would still be here (and have a fully functioning throwing shoulder). Was Oher's injury the moment that this franchise's luck changed and effectively ended the Cam/Luke/Rivera era?

I’ve said that for years. All the chain of events that resulted from that drug the Panthers down over the next 3 years

Newton's shoulder injury stems to a very specific play where TJ Watt hits his shoulder leading with the helmet. If your premise is Oher's absence led to Newton's injury and the cascade effect from that, it only holds if you believe Oher's presence on the field prevents that one very specific play from occuring the way it did. If not, Oher's injury is bad, but does not have the impact on Newton your premise suggests.

  So if you disagree with someone, with a long standing rep of being who he is, they are a troll?  If that applies across the board, you have “Chucks” troll spot(s) locked up. 
 

   And the only thing that compares to the Oher injury was the ridiculous handling of Cams injured shoulder. And Cam shares that blame.

No.  Rivera’s own ineptitude and refusal to make adjustments and try something new in SB50 ruined this franchise.  We never recovered.  Then to hear Denver players openly say after that we did absolutely nothing new or different sting even more.  That had to resonate with players.  And I truly believe that was the end of the Rivera era right then and there.

 Cams shoulder got hurt in 2016 against SD. That should have been his last play of year. The season was basically done as far as making the playoffs. It hasn’t been close to 100% since for many reasons and decisions. 
 

  They are two separate things to me. The only way Oher keeps Cam away from getting injured back then was if he fell down and tripped him while chasing an INT return. Nothing good has  happened when Cam is near the pylon. His arm was about 75-80% BEFORE Watt took another 25-30% in one shot. 
 

Ohers absence led to horrible LT play in 2016. Matt Kalil(who is one of the worst decisions any front office ever made) Chris Clark, who was at home when the Panthers called him to start for them. Then they trade up for Little which is sad. Then put D. Williams in there. Oh dear God. Which forced acquiring a vet on a one year deal so Teddy could live. 
 

  Any other happenings even compare with the destruction Of either of these.

      Everyone knew the catch was secured and didn't move. That was clear to the entire audience. The only ones who thought it wasn't a catch were in the NYC home office. They knew they'd just offer an apology the next day.

      NEVER FORGET!!!!   Canales was on no one's radar. Tepper couldn't get anyone to come here. He was all in on Ben Johnson. Nobody wants to work with Tepper, however Canales tenure may prove important for the next guy. This guy still has no idea what he's doing.

      The 4th down play was poor execution by Chuba. He didn't want to get physical like Rico and cut North South to lean on his blocks from Tremble and Ekwonu for half a yard. Also, the 3rd down play before that Bryce audibled out to a QB run and almost got the 1st down was on Chuba for not knowing the play call leading to poor execution. You can see Chuba's confusion when Bryce had to realign him. Then Chuba thought he was getting the handoff and was slow to develop his double team on the DE with Tremble. Then Chuba hesitated on pushing the block and just ran to the sideline making Bryce have to loop around him. This pulled the DE away from Tremble forcing Chuba to chip on the DE late and leaving the safety as a free defender. Chuba was suppose to double down on the DE to let Tremble peel off to the safety. This allows Bryce to set up his run to the inside or outside after the safety commits. You can also see Tremble walk over to talk to Chuba after the play and Chuba shrugs which tells me he didn't know what to do. The audible would have worked on 3rd and the dive would have worked on 4th. The plays were good calls and drawn up well. The question is why was Chuba unprepared for those plays in two critical back to back plays? I like Chuba as a 1st down RB and passing downs, but I have always seen him lacking the power and vision to be a short yardage power back. Chuba didn't come prepared for the Saints game or he was thrown into a position at the 3 spot that he was never prepared for.
