I tuned in to WFNZ yesterday and Bailey was running his yap about how they shouldn’t have paid CMC. Hindsight is 20/20 garbage.

We shouldn't have paid shaq or boston....if all CMC could do was run the ball it'd be one thing but he's a WR and a RB and could even do returns if we just had to have it like he did in college....

Don't worry Mike, only the people who don't football good, think this team is better without Mccaffrey.

Yep. Same people told me we needed to keep Short. Short’s cap this year and next is way more than CMC and Davis combined. There’s always money for your stars, especially when you cut the dead weight and don’t restructure a lot.

I was hoping we try to trade him to cushion some of the blow---and then he goes IR---now the best case scenario is that he is a post June 1 cut 2021 and we can spread his cap hit across 2021 (about $6m) and 2022 (roughly $4m)

He is hurting this team and he has been since he inked the deal.

He was actually still a top 5 DT for part of the deal. 2019 was an injury year, just needed to cut it after that when we were letting all the dead weight go and rebuilding. The restructure by Marty added another $4-5M in dead cap and unfortunately likely made that the reason we kept him. Heck, was his shoulder even back to being good? He's now lost two seasons due to the shoulder injury. After Paradis and Williams, you'd think we wouldn't have spent $13M more in salary on Short knowing there was obviously a very high risk of him not even finishing the season let alone get back to his 2014-2018 levels when he was a legitimate top DT for 5 years. He was easily cuttable before the restructure and before this year even with the restructure.

Totally agree, it's absurd that many people on here didn't understand what a good CB looks like. He's not the best corner in the NFL but he's a legit starter and always has been.

He literally just shut down amari cooper last week. Idk why we aren’t high on corners. We rarely draft em in the first rd. And the late corners we take suck . Except Norman

    • I don't really care as much about athleticism and arm strength.  While Murray might be better in that regard, I think Bryce has enough of both to do well in the NFL. The main reason this trade reference is silly is the money and the fact that Murray has been around a long while and hasn't proven that he can perform consistently when the game is on the line.  Bryce has shown that he can play well in the clutch (in the few opportunities he has had).
    • If Bryce can continue the level of play he showed after the benching, then there's a good shot we at least compete to win the division. Tampa is a solid team but even last year in our week division they went 10-7 and will be on their 4th OC in as many years. The Saints are a mess and are in a mist of a half rebuild half still trying to compete mode and will probably be starting a rookie QB. The Falcons are a wild card as they have a really good offense but are we really crowning Michael Penix as a franchise QB after just 3 games?  The only thing I want out of this season is for Bryce to come out and without a shadow of a doubt prove he's our franchise QB. If that happens then most of the fanbase would be happy and I believe we'd be in a good place record wise at the end of the season. Maybe falling just short of winning the division with a chance to sneak in as a wild card team.
