TEDDY SUCKS

If Moore makes that endzone catch and Slye doesnt miss the field goal, we come away with a W.  You can't miss scoring opportunities against a good defensive team.

Wasn't it 56 yards? Even in the NFL 56 yard fgs are hardly gimmies.

Moore shouldn't have dropped both passes even if they were tough catches.

Teddy doesn’t suck. We all know this was a knee jerk reaction thread right after the loss.

The jury is still out on Teddy being the long term answer at QB though. Biggest gripe I have is his lack of arm strength and struggles throwing the ball into the end zone. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I recall literally one pass thrown into the end zone yesterday - DJ Moore’s drop. Cam wasn’t great at passing in the red zone either, but he more than made up for it with his power rushing ability.

Hopefully Teddy is still learning the system and adjusting from not having a full offseason and preseason to prepare, but were now going into game 7 of the season and things need to start clicking. Red Zone issues will be the demise of this season the rate things are going.

if moore doesn't miss that 4th down catch, or the short crossing route, or the endzone.  if big mike wasn't slow, if okung can remember the snap count, and a few really bad calls...   shorthanded we hung with them.  i thought that was pretty impressive.  we have no choice but to play a bend don't bread D because of a lack of talent.  i think we're doing pretty damn well with what we have.  i had to back out of the game thread in the first quarter when the 'its over' posts started 2 minutes into the game.

It's over posts just make life spicy.

They are fun.

Why is the jury still out? This has been a recurring theme throughout Teddy's career.

Teddy is doing the best he can, but the best he can just isn't good enough to compete for SBs in today's NFL. It's going to be virtually impossible to compete for a SB in today's NFL with a QB who struggles to get the ball in the ennzone. Yards are great, but ultimately it's points that win the game.

Cause we don't know what Joe Brady thinks.

It's very possible that Brady could believe he can develop into a long-term solution.

I doubt Teddy is ever going to turn into a 35 TD QB. This is supposedly his best year statistically and he is on pace for 16 TDs and 13 INTs. That is franchise QB material.
His limitations make him frustrating to watch. He is boring.

Doesn't mean it's possible, but the staff and Teddy do both deserve to let this season play out at this point. Possibly next as well if signs of Teddy's development appear as this season goes along, IMO.

Well, that would be terrifying. The whispers that Herbert would've been our pick if he was there gives me hope that's not the case

He liked him well enough to dump Cam Newton for him.

I don't really believe we'd pass up a first round pick in favor of Bridgewater, but I also don't know that we're going to be in a position to draft one of the first round quarterbacks next year.

If we're not, it's going to be interesting.

I'll take boring if it wins games.

See above.

My belief is still that we'll be looking for our quarterback of the future next season, but as mentioned above this season's success might make that process more complicated.

It might be.  But Slye has the leg strength.  Their guy made a 54? yard kick.

Eh, Joe Brady looks like one of the more promising offensive minds in the NFL right now.

If he thinks he can mold Teddy into a legit franchise QB, I am willing to give him time to try. And by time I don't mean 6 games and a 3 and 3 record.

I think a lot of us went into this season expecting a top five draft pick and a shot at one of the best available quarterbacks.

Still a long season to go, but it's looking like we might not go as high as expected. And thus things get interesting.

    • They can get film of all the games? Every team? Wow! Who knew… Our games with them are big examples of why they are in  the CB market so hard.   It is the study they do getting ready for the games.  Preparing to play against is a little different than just analyzing film in scout mode. Deeper dive. Then you are analyzing post game too.  This goes to why players often change teams but stay in the division. The opponents know each other on a higher level.  Plus if you lost to us, you used to get fired. Now you have to trade your first round pick. Moving up on the world.
    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
