The refs extended 3 different saints drives

You know as a Saints fan you must have zero self-awareness or sense of irony when you are accusing other fanbases of complaining about calls.

This is the richest thing I've read all day.  Like, it's even funnier b/c you obviously believe the words that emanated from your mind that you actually typed out by your fingers on record for all to see.  It's truly remarkable...

And on a similar note, now seems like a good time to remind our dear readers where such unabashed ignorance comes from:

Imagine having 1 penalty for 5 yards all day. Having a TD taken off the board on a trash OPI call. And still having the nerve to complain about the refs.

Panther fans and complaining about the refs. Name a better duo.

If take a look at Saints forum the fan base is always in meltdown mode over no call penalties of any kind. They are and always will be overly critical on this issue.

glad you're good man

Likewise, friend!

Definitely a competitive game yesterday between our squads. Teddy certainly looked good as we remember from those 5 games last year (possibly even better) and even Brees was able to turn the clock back a bit for a vintage Brees performance.

It honestly was the best Brees has looked throwing the ball this year by far and up until yesterday it definitely appeared that Father Time was tapping him on the shoulder, much to our chagrin.

Yeah bro. Just post here and there. How you doing?

Idk how you could shrug off those calls.  They literally kept scoring drives going when you should have been punting.  And the Brees TD was close, but it did NOT appear to cross the plane and then he fumbled.

The OPI, although it happens way more often than it is called was pretty blatant, and they're more likely to call it if it was used to score a TD, which it was.

We have enough issues, as do most teams, trying to stop your offense without the help of the officials...  those penalties were huge and kept at least 3 scoring drives alive for you all.

Edit: quoted the wrong post.  Sorry...

It is great to have a heated rivalry, and it amazes me, to see the Saints kick that cap down the line. However, next year the cap could shrink and my god how in hell will the Saints manage it? I read somewhere, where the Saints were projected to be $80M over the cap next year, and that is just the 53, damn. Enjoy this year, the rivalry could be shifting soon.

he looked good yesterday.  teddy is pretty good.  if he had a line he could trust i bet he could really operate this system.  i never would have guessed it.

We’ll all just have to wait and see, I suppose. Only a select few have peered into Loomis’ books to know how exactly he’s going to finagle next year’s cap but I wouldn’t put it past him yo pull out some magic and creative accounting like he has for the better part of the past two decades.

But even if/when we begin to rebuild, the rivalry will still be just as hot as it’s always been.

Indeed, the OL was giving up a good bit of pressure (not as much as I’d have liked though considering we had trouble doing it without blitzing) but Teddy definitely was slinging it back there and had it been against anyone but us, I’d have had to cheer for him. The moment where he went sit on the Saints’ bench between Brees and Taysom was definitely a heartwarming moment.

They actually only have like 44 guys under contract next season.... Their time to pay the piper is 2021....

    • Saints trade WR Shaheed to Seahawks Seahawks get: WR Rashid Shaheed Saints get: 2026 fourth-round pick, 2026 fifth-round pick Seahawks' grade: A- Saints' grade: B+ One of the NFL's hottest passing teams just got better. The Seahawks currently rank third in EPA per dropback (0.25) and first in success rate on dropbacks (53%). And now they are adding Shaheed in a move that makes sense both on the field and in terms of where the Seahawks are as a franchise. Shaheed, 27, is averaging 1.8 yards per route run this season. But I think that sells him short because that number is down a bit from his career average entering this year (2.0) and he's been playing a role that includes running fewer vertical routes (34%) compared to last year (44%). Shaheed also has consistently posted above-average open scores in ESPN's receiver score metrics, including a 63 this season that ranks 28th among wide receivers. As a complement to Jaxon Smith-Njigba, I expect Shaheed will run downfield more often and be a bigger threat in that role than rookie Tory Horton was. When Cooper Kupp returns, he and Shaheed will make for a nice pair of secondary threats behind one of the best receivers in the league in Smith-Njigba. This is the time to strike for the Seahawks. FPI gives Seattle an 84% chance to make the playoffs and a 5% shot at winning the Super Bowl. This addition helps boost their chances without mortgaging their future the way the Colts did in the Sauce Gardner trade. Shaheed is a pending free agent but given the leverage of the moment for the Seahawks and their need I think they ought to be plenty willing to pay the cost. Shaheed is young enough to where if Seattle doesn't retain him he should sign a free agent contract that would yield Seattle a compensatory pick -- if the Seahawks don't nullify that pick with signings of their own. Because the Seahawks currently have $79 million in cap space next year, per OverTheCap, getting that compensatory pick is not guaranteed. The Saints are not rolling in cap space the way the Seahawks are -- and thus would land a compensatory pick for Shaheed -- but they got more draft capital this way than they otherwise would have. Considering New Orleans' 1-8 record, this should have been an easy decision.
