Seems like a matchup nightmare for us tonight with Douglas and Burris out again. Hope I’m wrong but after watching the Saints backups move the chains with ease, this makes for a very tough matchup on paper.

In spite of this Vegas still has us favored by 2 somehow, so maybe I’m missing something.

The weather likely helps us with that matchup.   Especially if we get the predicted wind to go along w/ that rain.   Well, at least the deep ball aspect.

I'm in Charlotte right now. By game time there will probably hardly be a breeze. It's sunny with an occasional breeze at the moment but it's rapidly tailing off. The storm is moving out. They expected this thing to be a fast mover but I think it was a lot faster than they even predicted.

well, that would be good.  I thought I saw something on twitter calling for heavy winds by kickoff.    I was under the impression a system rolled in this evening near kickoff.

If we get a window of good weather I'm making a wildcard Teddy B fantasy play in my money league.   Can't do it with the weather.

It seems the chance of rain spikes again tonight.  Though rain could hurt our passing game too. They have Gurley, we have Whitehead and Boston :(

Maybe, now we are seeing why linebackers are important to a defense.

I mean we essentially went straight from Morgan to Beason to Luke.

that is what? 19 straight years of studs occupying the middle?   We definitely got spoiled in that one aspect. I'd imagine LB in general has been our strongest position in franchise history too.

There was a common line of thought around here the last few years that linebackers and defense weren't important which always seemed a strange.

    • I believe Lloyd will elevate not just the whole unit, but also whoever his running mate is. Wallace is still very young, I think he's only 23 with two years of exp now. Cherelus can handle starting, he's just fighting with staying healthy. Kuwatch I think is going to be a contender after a couple week of understanding the system.  I mean Lee will be against..... what nearly 10 NFL-level WRs, he's going to get work and its up to him if he can hang.  I think its fair to expect 12th +/- 3 or 4 spots.  You know this, it boils down to how healthy everyone stays.....cause if dbrown, horn, Lloyd, Michael Jackson, or tervon miss extended time.....no way 10th can be reached. IF all the names above remain haethly, I do think 10th should be the goal. They are a young unit and added talent to a 16th ranked unit. Its time to march forward!!
    • Varying degrees all around but it starts at the top. That is where the buck stops. It has been 8 years of stupid, long before Morgan came back. Or Tillis was hired. Made it to the top of stupid mountain in 2023. Stayed in stupid limbo for a while, now we are prepping to scale the next mountain. In this case, I like those guys’ roster building better than what we have had so I am okay with them as our current pawns in the game of Bryce.
    • Don't let me gas him up too much, but I hear this and that...... I seen a wide body man with a quick burst, that's able to shed blocks and if extends his long arms its over. He tore up the OL in the senior, you seen about 10 plays and the dog walking OLman. There's other plays of him doing the same, just have to deal with fetus talking over the plays. Plus there's this-  https://x.com/PFF_College/status/2018385471068332410?lang=en     I hope he's ready, cause Id like to see him starting and doing his thang with dbrown, nic, and Phillips.
