Teddy experiment needs to be over

Teddy's contract is a clear indication management wasn't convinced he was the answer either, so this has already been planned for.

I hope Teddy turns it around because he seems like a great guy, but as of now, hes serviceable and will keep us from being totally blown out, allowing us to evaluate our other players on offense and our system in general. But he's not going to be our franchise guy long term.

Cousins has been WAY better than Bradford ever was.

He's a pretender who puts up great stats in garbage time and meaningless games. Only time he's ever come up big in his entire life was against the Aints in the playoffs and they've got a recent track record of playoff chokes... Yes, he's better than Bradford, but he's also already earned over $200M which is just absolutely silly...

Oh, he's definitely overpaid but he provided way more ROI than Bradford ever did.

but you don't need pro football reference to tell you that. just watch the games. like 80% of his throws are going 5 yards or less downfield. the completion percentage is high because those throws are easier to complete. go look at the next gen passing charts by week. it's wild how the distribution is gradually getting flatter and flatter.

Give Bradford credit. No one in the history of football has made more money for doing less on the field than Sam Bradford. Bradford is the 17th highest paid NFL player of all-time. LOL!

Its not in the same stratosphere but Mike Glennon has made out like a bandit not really doing anything at all in the NFL.  The Bears set him up for generations for starting a couple of games.

26th in the nfl in intended air yards per pass attempt

But, that's why he also has been blowing it late in games, regardless of pressure...  that's when he is forced to throw something other than a checkdown, and he can't or just isn't comfortable enough to.

Yeah, numbers are very misleading. It is preconceived notions with bias that are accurate.

So Aaron Rodgers is trash in the 4th quarter? Baker Mayfield is average in the 4th? And Drew Brees is mediocre in the 4th? And according to that, Jimmy G in the 4th quarter>Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Russel Wilson. Got it. Yeah man. We all would take Baker Mayfield over Aaron Rodgers in the 4th quarter. These numbers seem to be a product of the team more than anything else.

    • Ravens mixing it up with a random Mark Andrew tush push last year isn't a similar situation.  Lamar has run QB sneaks his entire career.  And often instead of a traditional sneak will even employ a 4th and 1 direct snap to Lamar simply because of how athletic he is (which even Cam did a lot of) and let him pick his own holes.
    • height being an issue doesn't just mean batted balls.  You could argue Bryce minimizes batted balls by adopting other poor habits such as his jump passing and leaving the pocket.   As I said, there are plays you can point to where he clearly was blind to parts of the field/players....which kills plays and opportunity. Which actually means some of the shorter/hot throws when things break down are where his vision gets blocked (and he had below average production all around the line of scrimmage).   has he figured it out? I mean, he improved off a trainwreck start.  But Bryce Young since arriving in the league (even while figuring it out)......doesn't generate much offensive production vs his peers.  I just think his ceiling is low.   And that's not in the grand scheme what you want in the NFL.  I think he can develop into a serviceable QB, that will largely always been a middle of the pack or low end starter.
    • People make a lot of noise about his footwork and I think it is overblown. Whether he takes 3 steps backwards or 5 small steps doesn't matter as long as he ends up at the right depth and is in sync with  the receiver regarding timing. If he does that consistently who cares as long as he has a firm stable base as he delivers the ball. Which he does need to work on. However even that is somewhat overblown given that often QBs have to throw off balance or from different arm angles to fit the ball around defenders. He is considered very accurate so apparently it isn't hurting him that much.
