I felt like Reed was the bigger issue last night. The majority of the interior pressure I saw was between Paradis and Reed, not Paradis and Miller, at least from what I saw.

Reed had a 9.2 PFF grade in pass protection. The film lines up with that assessment perfectly. I am buddies with a Packers fan, he thought I was overreacting so I told him to check the film and he then nearly had a stroke watching him in the HIGHLIGHTS.

Seriously, Paradis is bad, and his contract hurts more, but Reed is on a whole new level of suck. I refuse to believe there's not someone out there who could do a better job than him. Unfortunately, the Bengals just signed one of those candidates.

but Paradis and Reed get to escort D linemen to Teddy every play

Yea I think next year is gonna be a CB in the first and the rest dedicated to interior lineman and maybe a MLB lol. I think we upgrade over Tahir whitehead with a 4th or 5th round MLB.

Did we even have anybody left that we could put in on the interior last night?

I know one of the interior guys was inactive and it was reported that Daley was taken into the locker room.

Daley was at least replacement level last year, I'm puzzled as to why he's not seeing the field.

    • This is a toughie because I wonder what a guy like Canales thinks about redemption stories for addiction issues. Also, I think this is a case of 1 player getting caught, and not being naive enough to think this isn't more common in college than we think. I'd toss a 3rd rounder out there. 2026 is essentially a redshirt season regardless, so he's not taking over for any NFL QB next year. Best case, he's ready to go in 2027 if we pass on Bryce's extension. Worst case, he's our future backup QB2. Kid has the tools to be an NFL QB. I do think we could somehow land a '26 3rd round pick back in a trade. Our past years' third rounders are: Brazzell Princely Wallace DJ Johnson Matt Corral All this to say, I could see a team like the Jets going w/ a 2nd. They have three FRPs next year.
    • Alright man! We're here for it! Just glad you're keeping the doors open!
    • I think we've seen improvement in Bryce's performance. It still isn't up to world beater status, but in Canales defense, he can say that the limitations of the player were hit. I think he survives that even if Bryce doesn't. Still, I think it's a 50/50 shot for Bryce to make it. QB is one of the toughest jobs to do in the sports world, if not the most, so the failure rate is really high, no matter the pedigree. Heck, Archie Manning gets a lot of credit as a great QB but anyone who saw his career in motion knows he wasn't really that good and he was surrounded by bottom of the bowl players. He did get it figured out with his sons, though. That grandson... maybe.
