We still thinking DJ isn't our Number 1?

This couldn't be more clear. Of course a guy like Robby with a Qb like teddy would have a boom year. Those two are the only ones familiar with the system. Both knew the head coach prior to this year, both played for him at a certain point. But it couldn't be more clear DJ is our Number 1. The year he is having with very small number of touches compared to what Robby and Curtis see Underneath. The double teams. The plays after the catch. This guy's is good man. Letting him go would be a mistake.

I can honestly say I'm happy with out WR core. They've shown out keeping them together would be big if we can find them a worthy QB. Such a shame all we can afford to keep is OLine after all these years we have known it to be a problem. Almost killed our MVP.

Our offense should be a Priority going forward. If we can't score points to keep up with guy's like Mahomes or Rodgers we don't stand a chance.

So many holes on this roster,  but do we honestly think Dj is one?

Love D.J., our best player on offense.

But if Sewell and both the QBs are gone, we'd be foolish not to take Chase with CSam likely gone and Robby going into has last year. One of D.J.'s weakness is he is not a contested catch, go to WR. Still struggles off of press.

Did you not see his first catch of the game?

I did. And also I've seen him this season. He's struggled off of press and contested catches more often than not.

One play does not a player make. D.J. is electric, but he has flaws that I think separate him from the best of the best.

Obviously. With those 3, we can have vet min. players or mid/late round rookies after them and still be completely set at the position.

We have to Tag/Resign Moton and Curt is probably gonna want a decent chunk of dosh. D.J. and Burns are coming up. I love Curt to death but resigning him shouldn't be a priorty.

I just don't think he'll have a huge market, I may be very wrong but I think he'll be worth more to us than other teams and we'll be able to keep him for a reasonable amount. But I definitely do agree with you, we shouldn't overpay for him.

    • Like many of the old heads, I’ve been here for a long time.  I got a lot of respect for everyone on this board for your dedication to this team.  We’ve all been through it during the tougher years. At this point in life, I’m not one to judge anyone’s level of dedication, or their reasons why anymore.  Time, and a lot of bad football, will do that.  For me, it’s simple.  We share a common bond.  For that, I love and appreciate all of you crazy SOB’s. For me, last season was at a minimum, entertaining.  BY lead a young team to multiple come from behind 4th qtr wins.  That showed me heart, and that he has the clutch gene.  That’s the wildcard intangible.  For me, that was fun to watch even  if it was mindbogglingly frustrating at times.  Over the past two seasons, we have progressively built a better team around him.  On paper, the defense should be better this season.  That’ll help.  Let’s see what he can do as the other guys continue to develop too.  Besides, his contract is cheap for a few more years, and we just made some smart cap decisions during the draft. Let’s see how it shakes out.
    • Hiring Shula & his Cam save us playbook.
    • I would very much liked to have seen Jake Delhomme's career if Tommy Jone no hurt Jake.  I just know that roster and the leadership were destined to hit paydirt but Jake was never the same after the elbow injury, and unfortunately he was the sole reason they didn't make it back to the big one.  I think that 08 team was the best in the league, and Jake masked his inability well all season til the Arizona game put it all on display.  I'll go back to the season prior even and say the 07 team was primed to be a competitor.  Jake was off to a fantastic start that year (for a Panthers QB).  They may have been a championship caliber club for a few seasons after 08 too.
