Gotcha. Delusional butthurt seems to be your track today.

Feigned Illiteracy and lack of comprehension is your shtick, go at it!

I've said what I've said and stand by it!

I don't entertain stupidity for the most part, and I don't see why I should today.

You said in one sentence only LG and I are trying to state facts, and you aren’t, but you twice now have said that we are going to rue the day that we sold Lance short. You are trying to make that into a fact. I’ve also been far from a stumper for Wilson.

Hell, I don't even have any issue with Lance. I just like to poke the bear when I see someone being emotionally incapable of objectivity.

Who is flavor of the month? Lawrence has been the 1 and Fields has been the 2 for the longest time. Lance was in the running to be 3 but after about week 4 Wilson was in the running for 3. He’s been so good people thought he could be the second QB off the board. Lance didn’t help his stock in 2020. His last two games against lesser competition were 10 total passing compared to 30 runs in the biggest game of their year and then this new season he completed just half his passes in an ugly showing where he was wildly inaccurate. It’s completely understandable why Wilson passed him.

Hell, it’s been Lawrence #1, Fields #2 since they were juniors in High School.

Flipside is also true. What if Meyer passed on Fields to take Lawrence only to see Lawrence bust and Fields, whom he had a connection with, thrive?

And not taking Lawrence would be different from that...how, exactly?

Either way you're getting fired for results, not expectations.

Because everyone would think you were crazy for not taking Lawrence.

You pass on Fields and take Lawrence and Lawrence bust, nobody second guesses that.

You pass on Lawrence and take Fields and Fields bust, everyone second guesses.

One is more likely to get you fired.  Very different exactly.

Nobody gives a sh-t who thought it was a good idea at the time.

The only thing that matters is whether you got the choice right or wrong.

not true

You take a Andrew Luck or Payton Manning type prospect and they don't work out you get a pass, because it was the "correct" move.  You pass on one of those guys to take someone else and they don't work out, that gets viewed as a terrible decision.

Coaches and GMs make decisions all of the time "by the book" so they aren't second guessed.

I'm sure everyone looked at the drafting of guys like Ryan Leaf and JaMarcus Russell and said "Eeehhh, no big deal. Seemed like a good idea at the time."

not relevant

easy question:

GM takes Trevor, Trevor turns out bad

GM passes on Trevor to take QB2 on everyone else's board and QB2 turns out bad

Which GM is going to get criticized more? pretty simple answer

Which GM is going to have more explaining to do to their owner?  pretty simple answer

Again, nobody gives a damn who thought what was a good idea.

The only thing anybody cares about is whether the decisions turn out good or not.
