I don't think this requires justification.

Guy grandstanded on an app, and now he's created a narrative for himself

I don't really have strong feelings about it. Smith, of course, has strong feelings about everything.

A little while back on NFL Network, he was ripping Smith-Schuster a new one, questioning whether he wanted to be a social media star or a football player.

Basically, typical Smitty.

Honestly, i don't think the fg negates the field position

One 20 yard pass takes about 7 seconds and eliminates the field position advantage.  But a 16 point lead means two td's (with no mistakes), and two 2 point conversions. I will take that over the field position.

Of course they made a mistake, Cleveland got another fg, and now its pretty much over.

Idk if thats basically smitty.

At a certain point, couldn't you see nfl stardom being taken over by busts, that just need to create a following?

I know Jake was terrible in that game, but what still infuriates me even more is John Fox's idiotic stubbornness on defense.

Larry Fitzgerald was all the Cardinals had, and all we had to do was stick Chris Gamble on him to try and shut him down. But nooooo, that would have required adjusting the scheme away from their "left corner, right corner" setup and that was just too damn much to ask.

Ugh

Why do the panthers hate the qb position?

Typical Smitty because it's the same kind of thing he said to guys like Dwayne Jarrett and Drew Carter.

The quickest way to piss Smith off back then was to not work as hard as he did. Truth be told, it probably still is.

I don't know about the Panthers, but I do know John Fox didn't believe in franchise quarterbacks, and he sure as hell didn't care about developing them.

Fox's preferred method was to get a quarterback somebody else had already developed by free agency.

He was said to be royally pissed when they spent a high draft pick on Jimmy Clausen.

(to be fair, he was right in that particular case)

It is what it is.

Pretty sure Big Ben has the most pass attempts in a playoff game by now.

    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
