Coaches spent all week talking about how good Jones and the other QBs were, then after the game they're like... nah, we're not hot on any of them being first rounders.

We'll have Jones in the first or the second.

"Now Mac, that ankle looks pretty bad to me. Maybe you'd better sit this thing out."

"Nah, Coach Rhule, I'm fine. Look I can run, I can pivot, I can push off and I can plant, no problem."

"Mac, just sit there, look disappointed and try to look like an optimistic bust every time the camera pans to you."

"And with the eighth pick of the 2021 NFL draft, the Panthers pick Mac Jones, QB, Alabama."

"Told ya kid, we'd take care of you."

Just like at any other level of football, you do what it takes to win, and running down someone's throat is preferable every single time!

Stop with the bullshit narrative about people getting defensive. It's not true. Lance is just a prospect like all the other ones. He will get his knocks just like everyone else not named Trevor. Analysis and criticism are all a part of the process, but you seem to take offense every time someone points out counterarguments to prospects that you don't want. Your go-to argument is that some message boarders are being "defensive", but you're the one who is low-key getting the attitude. I'll say what I said the last time you accused me of being defensive: Some of you are going to rue the day that you talked poo about Trey Lance. And, I stand behind what I said. If he busts, I'll be the first to admit it. But, when he turns out to be special, I won't even have to say "I told you so", because you'll know.

For the record, I'll be content to get a potential starter. Sure, I think Lance has the highest upside, and I doubt that he's going to bust, but if we pick Wilson, Fields, or even Jones, I will trust that Rhule and company know what they're looking for and be hopeful that it all works out. Even if we don't pick a QB, I know that we will acquire one relatively soon (before Teddy's contract is up).

You are being ultra sensitive today. You literally made up a fake argument where I said Trey Lance can’t throw. Going to rue the day we critiqued Trey Lance? What kind of idiocy is that? Is he going to hurt me or my family? Are you? What a joke lol

Your modus operandi is tiresome and tired! You have already said that you didn't want Lance. Yes, you have! You've also said that his coaches "limited" his throws and "avoided" throwing the ball, intimating that Lance was the issue! You've made a dishonest and/or disingenuous leap based solely upon Lance's lack of throws (as you see it)! Every time I counter your bullshit, you accused me of being sensitive or defensive (which is ludicrous, I might add) when it's you who are the one being sensitive. Chill out a little bit! Don't be so sensitive when someone counters your argument!

You haven’t countered anything I’ve written. Something is going on with you today. I have said I didn’t want Lance. That’s correct. I’ve never claimed I didn’t say that. This is the case of you making up arguments I’m not making. He’s not my first choice. I’ve also said I completely understand why the Panthers would take him. YES I HAVE!! I’ve also said I’d support him if he was the pick. YES I HAVE!!

I hope your day gets better.

I hope Joe is right here, Rhule is a lair and this could be one of his lies.

@Varking how DARE you say the lord and savior Trey"18 times superbowl MVP" lance can't throw, shame on YOUU!!1!1!!!

He came out of the woodworks with tears already in his eyes and has gotten super offended over my opinion. I didn’t even say he couldn’t throw. I pointed out he is thousands of reps and reads behind these other guys and it’s going to take him time to get it. This triggered something deep in his soul.

Like I said: I reject your boom-or-bust narrative in regards to Lance! I reject your intimations that coaches purposefully limited his throws! Moreover, if you "don't want Lance", he's obviously not your first choice or any choice, do don't try and hedge now.  Live by what you said!

Your deflection is ludicrous! You're a pretty bad comic or just delusional if you actually believe that I am offended by a disagreement of opinion about a football player or football team. I reject your boom-or-bust narrative in reference to Lance, period! Sorry (not sorry) you don't like that!

I hope your night gets better.

I’ve literally told you what I’ve said. And I stand by it. I don’t want him. That doesn’t mean I can’t see why he’s coveted. It doesn’t mean I wouldn’t cheer for him. You’re the one dramatizing this whole thing. “YE SHALL RUE THE DAY!!!”

Well, that really was dramatic!

    • Honestly, I view the rest of this season like every game is a division game - meaning you can throw the records out.  Throw the perceived favorites out.  Every week, we have to show up and punch them in their mouth.  We’re gonna have to gut it out.  We can’t go into games against well coached teams and think, “well, the Rams already got that one, McVay is just too good of a coach and they’re too talented.”  “Can’t beat the Niners.  Shanahan is one of the best and they just play everyone so tough, even with injuries.”  We have to go into each game feeling like everyone counted us out and we have to show them why they’re wrong.  And speaking of the Niners - that’s the exact blueprint we need to be looking at - for the last, it seems like at least 5 years, they have been decimated with injuries.  And they still contend to win their division and make a run in the playoffs every year.  Even while starting a plethora of QBs.  Even with their best defensive players being out for the bulk of seasons…  their DNA doesn’t change.  They compete.  Their standard is winning and nothing less, so even if you’re the 3rd stringer forced into action, either show up and play to that level or find another team.  This should be our approach and I think the Saints game was an important wake up call… I occasionally listen to whatever ESPN show is on sports radio in the mornings with Chris Camry and I believe it was after we beat the Packers, they asked him about us and he said, “they’re a young team learning how to win.”  And that is about as accurate or a description as you can get.  It explains the hiccups and the struggles.  But it also explains why it looks so good when we put it all together.  What we need now is our guys to have that light bulb come on as a collective and never look back.  I hope last week was the start of that and it continues tonight and for the rest of the season..
    • The veterans played better last night and they actually were looking for Kon but Bridges and Sexton went for a combined 2-15 from three. That is so bad.
    • https://www.talkbasket.net/206848-lamelo-ball-frustrated-by-hornets-struggles-amid-durability-concerns "Charlotte Hornets star LaMelo Ball is reportedly frustrated by the team’s lack of forward progress, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer." Apparently in his mind being perpetually injured and playing less than Gordon Hayward while on a supermax contract has no effect on the forward progress of the franchise.
