That's completely fair. I think he has above average (no where near the Elite canons the other QBs in the draft, and I 100% agree he dulls in comparison to those arms. But I still like him. And I still think he's a 1st round talent easy.  Yeah he threw to wide open guys but that's not his fault. Fields threw to wide open guys all the time (and note: I like Fields as a prospect more than Jones) but we still hype of Fields. I think the little things Mac does, shoulder fackes, holding safeties, decision making, etc is second to only TL (and in the case of Shoulder Fakes and DB manipulation I'd give a slight edge to Macorkie) and if a 5eam can make it to the SB with a solid playmaking defense and a top 5 HB with Jared fugin Goff getting spoonfed Info I have no doubt Jones can do that too, he's  a wayyyyy better prospect coming out than Goff was.

That all said could be wrong! I'm not gonna act like he's a burner but if he puts up something like a 4.9-5.0 I don't have too much concern personally  I think he has good enough improv skills and I think improvisation as a whole while strong, is a tad overated as guys with very average to okay mobility have been in the SB more recently than not, but I'm Also not gonna act like the NFL isn't treading that way and that someone like Jones COULD get phased out.

Just a question.. Would you say he more athletic and has a better or same arm strength as Matt Ryan or, Andy Dalton...

I'd say they're all comparable tbh. Matt Ryan/Eli Manning is a pretty fair comp imo, though I'd say he's better ar moving in the pocket and throwing off platform than both. I also think he has a better ability to throw on a rope than Ryan too.

The moving around in the pocket thing is a misnomal until we see him behind a bad Oline that isn't dominating lower competition.. I think Matt has the better arm.. But I believe all three couldn't carry a team if they aren't put in favorable situations...

I'd agree with that latter part. But I think there's only a handful of QBs that can elevate their team with 2< playmakers on their team, and maybe only about 2 in the league right now.

That said there's not many QBs who can survive behind a bad O-line. This isnt a knock on Watson but even with all.of his skills the Texans went out of their way to build that O-Line around him, at least the Tackles anyway. And look at Russ making noise because he's tired of getting hit. Any QB is gonna need an O-Line if they want to be able to consistently press downfield, if the pocket fugs up then a lot of QBs are gonns break down. I've seen Alabmas line give up quick pressure and Jones move around with a plan in the pocket to make a throw. If the pocket allows that and not instant "haha you're fuged" pressure there's not a single reason to believe Jones can't do that in the NFL.

rhule wants to move on from bridgewater because he is not athletic enough, wouldnt make sense to get mac jones .

I thought he wanted to move on from Teddy because he’s a pussy and afraid to push the ball downfield. If you need a yard, Teddy will get you two. If you need eight yards, Teddy will get you two.

    • You literally did it right there and didn't even remember it. Sorry long Friday.
    • TMac to finish up Feels good after pads came on. Physicality is a little different, playstyle is a little different. Refs let the players play, so he has to earn his stripes to get calls and just has to be better playing through contact. Focusing on staying confident and listening to coaches. Not much has changed for him, still trying to be his authentic self. Was asked about boxing practice he was seen doing. He's done that since he was a kid because his dad was a boxer and taught his siblings. Was the youngest and got beat up the most, but now he's the fourth of sixth children. Boxing helps with his cardio and being reactive with his hands to the ball + DB. Admits to struggling the first couple of days, hats off to the DB corps for making him better every single day but had his best day on Wednesday. Even the best get got. Just have to remain confident in preparation and abilities. Confidence will take you only so far, and that's where his resilience plays a factor. XL is authentic and great to have in the room. Can rely on him to be the same guy every day. They make each other better. Everybody feeds off of each other and when one person wins they all win. Happy to be a part of the receiver room. Was asked about how he was laughing harder than everybody else at XL getting his feet in the water off the back of the boat: "Man he needs to be stopped bro... He can't be serious but he was serious. It's all good." Playing against the increased amount of press he's facing in practice is helping him get more physical. His job is to catch the ball, so if it touches his hand he has to come down with it. Only catches with one hand if he needs to, but that gives the QB a bigger catch radius. Had a pregame routine where he did a 360 one-handed catch, but doesn't do it anymore. Working on being a pro: Getting into the facility early and getting treatment, eating better, etc. Just wants to win re: rookie goals. Anything he can do to help the team win. "I'm looking for to the season man and keep pounding."
    • DJ Wonnum up next Felt the defense came out ready to work at all levels and took over practice. New standard around here. Young guys have to know they're coming in to work. Last year was not the standard. Nic and Princely are fun. Different personalities but loves what they bring to the room. Sky is the limit for them. Nic sits next to Wonnum, Princeley sits next to Jones II. Allows them to be better mentors. Feels great and ready to go Incoom's athleticism allows him to bend and get low even to compensate for not being the biggest guy. Can set the edge. EDGE guys are helped when the ILBs can get home because it allows them to be a little more free while still in scheme. DB being back means his dominance is back. Can set the edge from the 3 or wherever he's at to make the runs bounce to the EDGE guys. Winning mentality and standard this year. Championship level from practice to how you live off of the field. Accept greatness and excellence with guys wanting to come to work every day. Not settling for anything less. Been in guys' shoes that are fighting for roster spots so he knows how to address them. Remembers not knowing what's next, especially as a rookie. Have a clear mind and ask the older guys a lot of questions. Has a good relationship already with Pat Jones II due to knowing each other and talking football all of the time. Can make hand gestures and know immediately what to adjust. Taking care of his body and excited to start the season. Getting it acclimated to football again by being able to tackle and bring players to the ground. Didn't know they were playing live tomorrow. Don't tell me it'll be "thud." Browns next week will allow them to hit somebody else and get a feel of what a different team is doing. Also allows the team to see where they're at on offense and defense. Ready to play football. Not worried about the QB matchup for Cleveland, going to play hard regardless of who is back there.
