Sounds like Jets' 2nd pick is open for business...?

Baker sweat preseason awards then looked worse the year after that then rebounded after a shaky start earlier this year to look good again and like a good fit for Stefanskis system. I remember that much fine, and seems like Wilson is similarly talented. I also remember Josh Allen being wildly talented but risky due to inaccuracy coming into the league and Fields is already more accurate and a great athlete himself. There's reason for optimism and these comparisons, while obviously great case outcomes and scenarios, are fair.

No, that's just being optimistic and seeing talent. Yall think believing a player is gonna be good is some sort of message board no no and that's boring as hell. No one is winning awards for being low expectations sports fans, it's literally a fun time activity

You can think a guy is going to be good without making the absurd claim that his floor is great.

Forget Allen, if we thought their floor was Baker, I don't think we would've been (and hell, maybe still are) hell-bent on trading for Watson. We would've been hell-bent on trading up in the draft from the get go.

Oh man, take it easy, message board guy

Also the bolded part might be you overrating Baker Mayfield, jury is still out on that guy and Watson is better than both so it makes sense a team looking for a qb keeps its options open. You just are reticent to call college players good bc it might not come true

LOL! Says the guy who constantly acts like the slightest disagreement with any opinion he has no matter how absurd is an all out assault him as a person. Calm down indeed.

Oh nice, so you are keeping score and butthurt lol. Glad to know I'm not the only one who takes this place too seriously

Interesting comment from Brandon Tierney supported by former Saints GM Randy Mueller...

Darnold has moments of brilliance and moments of "wtf is he thinking" pretty much every single game. Darnold has talent but if I am being honest here I am not sure why he is getting this many chances. Gase sucks at developing talent for sure, but Darnold should be picking up things on his own. I had him as my QB1 that draft, so I still have faith, but good lord he needs to get better and fast.

    • I’m sorry but banking on “developing” TMac, XL, and Coker is some wishful thinking. Just look at the history of this franchise.  JT Sanders is a fun athlete, but he’s kind of just a chubby Legette right now. Bouncing AT for these guys THIS season is putting the cart before the horse at minimum
    • Nope. He has completely washed that out for me over the last couple of seasons. We have not built a defense, he hasn't seemed to have developed any of the talent we've drafted or lured here. Our defense plays with lackluster effort many times and I've noticed that since Shaq was gone (after he was injured and all) that players were often out of place. Shaq appeared to be coaching on the field at times. Honestly, I want to see us transition back to the 4-3. We've never successfully transitioned to the 3-4 and we've been trying hard to do it since Tepper took the reins.
    • I think we tend to overvalue our players.  Last year folks were clamoring for a first for (WR/headcase/locker room cancer, I forget his name) that was traded for a pick swap and yielded less in value than Mingo.  I believe he is a deep depth piece at Cleveland now.
