"I'll be shocked if it's not Mac Jones to 49ers."

If I'm Detroit, I'm waiting till draft day and if there is a QB still available then I'm on the phone with Carolina, Denver, Chicago, Washington asking who wants to make sure they get this guy? Detroit is in full rebuild so the more picks they can get is better than any one player they can get in my opinion.

I think you are laying out Beaguals plan for the draft as well. I doubt panthers keep their true plans secret. Marty was here for 16 years, no question he knows whom to contact for panthers draft plans. Frittererer could also be not sharing the information, thus making hard for agents to remain loyal. The only saving grace, is Detroit/Beaguals have to force teams to fight over the 4th-5th best QB.... Some teams wise up and think- "Well 4 teams that needed QBs passed up this guy, why did they do that??"

Bengals would be stupid to pass up Sewell.

They wont

We are talking the bugals here, but for alllllll their mistakes, recent drafts havnt been half bad. Still they could be like many teams and have Slater rated higher. Their golden boy is pushing HARD for WR CHase. Lastly they just signed Riley Reiff and drafted Jonah Williams with the 9th pick in 2019, both play OT.....

Sewell seeems to be falling and he even may fall past the panthers if Fields/Lance are still there, no matter what reports say. Personally love to see Sewell drafted by the panthers, thought it was a dream months ago........not as dreamy now.

All the guys who sat out this year, fairly or unfairly , are dropping. It’s been across the board. I don’t see it as a knock on him. He’s still the best offensive lineman entering this draft.

Yea they are pushing those opt-out guys down, its unique. I didnt like players that pass on their bowl game, but understand the risk. Id get some insurance and play with my bros, but I understand not putting your draft life on the line for MVP of muffer bowl... Convid is a deal thats case by case. Sewell just seems like he is falling to 10s, I hope panthers dont over-think this.......Thank the football gods and draft a 15 year problem stopper. I believe Kevin Colbert said they where going to do this months ago, hope the panthers are smarter than that.

If an OT is on the market in FA it means he isn't elite. Teams don't let elite OT walk out the door.

Doesn't matter what Burrow wants. They will not draft a WR (non generational talent ie Megatron) that high with their needs.

Sewell will not get past the Panthers. He is an insanely talent LT.

If Fields/Jones are not on the board and Sewell is, he will be our pick.

    • If Mays has a market, which it seems he will, he's gone.  I think we bring back Nijman for too much money to be cautious at LT, Corbett comes back cheap since he's already said he wants to live in CLT, and Christensen eventually gets re-signed with the hopes he can be depth at some point.  Draft an OT, draft a C. The OL might be rough for stretches next year, but time to get some youth there to prepare for Bryce in 2027 or the next QB. I still think we compete for the division in 2026 and can go back to the playoffs unlike the oddsmakers in Vegas, but the *real* year is 2027 IMO. Either Bryce has proven it and he's the QB looking at his 2nd contract, or we have the ready-made team for the next rookie QB or Vet we trade for.
    • The Panthers are going to have a lot more flexibility in free agency than it looks like at first glance. On paper, the cap space might seem tight, but there are several obvious restructure candidates that could easily free up significant room. Between converting base salaries into signing bonuses and spreading cap hits out over future years, Carolina could realistically clear $60–80 million in additional space if they wanted to be aggressive. That kind of flexibility means they’re not stuck. They can extend key young pieces, add help along the offensive line, upgrade the defense, and still be strategic about value signings. Letting Cade Mays test the market makes sense from a leverage standpoint. If he’s willing to come back on a team-friendly deal, great, continuity on the line matters. But if his market price climbs, the Panthers should absolutely explore upgrades. The point is, this front office isn’t boxed in. With cap maneuvering and smart structuring, they have the ability to be active players in free agency rather than sitting on the sidelines like we are used too.
