What are we doing in the draft?

Normally I’d agree with you 99.99% of the time but I think Parsons is that special case.

Pete Carroll thought that about Aaron Curry when he drafted him #4 overall too. I think the group think on Curry that year was "safest player on the draft".

Just go dig through a article that was posted before this past August

Nah man you said multiple scouts had him as a day 2 pick.  Normally how this works is when you proclaim something like that you have to show your work.  Show me where multiple scouts had him round 2 preseason.

Not really.

just like Joe Burrow last year.    Though his stock jumped from his play on the field his senior year.  You had to dig to find where people had him a lower grade going into the year,  due to all the most recent articles.

So you cannot link one article or report where he is a day 2 pick.  Got it.  I always love the unsubstantiated claims on this board.

I don’t foresee Fitt and Rhule taking a defensive player in the first round after spending all picks on defense in 2020. Secondly, like others have mentioned, Parsons stock is going down. From a positional value standpoint and the fact that we now have Shaq, Perryman, and Riddick, he doesn’t really fit.

"IF" we are to continue our streak with going defense and taking into consideration what I think our scheme might be. If we traded down... I'd think we were targeting:

Trevon Moehrig

Jaelan Phillips

Caleb Farley

All those fit what we do and the traits we seem to look for.

If we had to go CB, I'd rather have Horn/Farley over Surtain.

Is it just me or were other people not overly impressed with Slater in this game. I know ll the scouts raved about this game but he looked terrible in the run game and gave up some pressures/had balls batted down.

Most scouts point to that game as his highlight reel, so yeah you go for it

This clip doesnt have the 4th quarter so you have to watch the whole game film

Chase Young didnt have any qb pressures when lined against Slater.  And you just said there were numerous

Heres an article saying how he is a 2nd round pick preseason.  Oh wait my bad its a first round grade after that game

    • And those criticisms would not be unfounded. There's a reason everyone expects the Panthers to gather several wins from the first part of the schedule, and that's because for the most part, we are playing bad teams to start. And given that Darnold is our QB, every break that goes our way is going to be used as a reason that we're not a legit team.
    • My favorite quote of his was  "You can put my mama out there and I will beat her like a drum too!" Priceless.
    • Our offense in the first half verse our offense in the second half is what has me most curious to watch. 2 games in a row we have looked incredible in the first half and sluggish in the second. I want to know if this is a consistent trend or if we will make adjustment to correct it. Both games so far weren't so close that we could let off the gas going into the second half, but we did anyway.
