clutter.  Lets remain true to the thread title.

Here is what we know:

  • I doubt we keep 2 LS.  Fletcher to be waived, try to put on PS if there is no trade.
  • We are probably not keeping 5 TEs.  1 or 2 will be cut (Tremble, Arnold are safe--Ricci, Thompson, and/or Thomas will be gone--I am guessing SF is trying to trade Thomas)
  • I am guessing 6 Safeties will not be on the roster (not sure if I count Hartsfield as a S though)  Chandler, Franklin, Chinn, Burris, Robinson--one or two will be gone.  I am guessing SF is trying to trade someone, but I doubt that happens.  My guess?  We end up with Chinn, Burris, Harsfield, Franklin.  Chandler and Robinson to PS if eligible.
  • We will keep 3-4 RBs (one being Cannon, a WR/RB hybrid and ST ace)  Rodney Smith and Bonnefon fighting for what might be no position, but I say Smith is cut)

So my cut list by 4pm:

  • Chandler
  • Robinson
  • Thompson
  • Fletcher
  • Rodney Smith
  • Phil Hoskins ( to PS--We are not keeping 5 DTs (Brown, Jones, Roy, Nixon)

And so it was written....

... and so shall it be done

Shi Smith is on this team.  Just getting some time with the trainers.  Before practice, they are busy with players who are practicing, but after they leave the training room, they can tend to the wounded.  Well, that is my experience anyway.

Yep, no way we cut Shi.

Surprised by Bynes. Got to assume we're scouring waivers for LBs.

Hoping Tecklenburg & Spencer Brown clear and make PS. Thinking Saunders is another PS candidate. Could Miller make PS? Or is he likely to be claimed?

Second round:

Surprised by Melvin cut.

Love the Fletcher to IR move. Perfect!

Not to mention...you saw/heard how much he cares about having a specific "type" of guy.

Guys who love football...many in the NFL do not.

Certainly seeing this mentality on our D right now. They were swarming to the ball on Friday night. Love it!

Robby chomping at the bit for week 1.  Jaycee mad as heck when the 1s didn't get to play versus Colts.

    • If you draft a guy who is healthy and has no concerns about that whatsoever and he goes out and tears his ACL in his first few games in the regular season on a physical play that's a freak accident. But when you trade up to draft an RB who is already rehabbing from a recent ACL tear and he spends the next several months continuing his rehab only to tear the same ACL again after less than a handful of regular season carries in a non contact circumstance that is no freak accident. That is a textbook example of why you do not do what we did. Particularly for what is now a plug and play position. And when you have the highest paid OL in the league over the next two years. None of that makes any logical sense. Legitimately it is and was some Scott Fitterer type foolishness. Now as for XL. The guy has not been committed to his craft. I think anyone with eyes on the situation can and would recognize that. However the warning signs were there. One season of legit production raw prospect that we knew would take time to develop etc. But Morgan and Bryce Young's own father were very high on him. I think in some capacity the reality of our limitation at QB is entering into the equation. Even TMac got a lot of flak over the course of his rookie season for not being able to haul in all of Bryce's passes. At the end of the day our fourth year QB also needs to do his part to maximize the talent we have available. As far as this year. Again. WR round 1 boils down to where are we going to get the touches for the rookie? That would require eating into not only our 8th overall picks touches but also our #2 WR whom oh yeah by the way was UNDRAFTED. I am happy to discuss WR prospects here. I was thrilled we invested what we did last year in TMac because it needed to be done and it made sense from all angles. But nowhere is it written in stone that you cannot draft a good or great WR outside of the first round. Except in the Panthers building apparently. That is not a good reflection on our scouts and front office let me tell ya. Because there's no way on this earth we are going to get back to relevancy and legitimate contender status if we can't pick some gems in the later rounds. Simple and plain.
    • This is pretty accurate our offense needs more juice. I love Cooker but he’s not enough XL ummm we’ll see this year hopefully the third year WR thing hits him and he plays better but still not enough. Honestly we need look at the Eagles they just adds Wicks and Hollywood Brown to that core. That shows the level of talent needed to compete at a championship level this coming season. And this below is the real problem KC doesn’t seem to add that much to our offense. We Makai Lemon or defense at 19
