Remember when people said Burns was a bad pick because he was a speed rusher from FSU?

I was skeptical because Hurney was doing one of his hold my beer moments.  And yes that FSU and DE's stigma thing was in the back of my mind.

I had that same twitch reaction about Darnold and the USC QB stigma.

What do I know?

I was more nervous about this whole 3-4 formation Rivera was trying to do when he drafted Burns and I was worried he wouldn’t fit in as a 4-3 end

This too. It just felt so awkward for all of them that whatever they did I just knew it was going to blow up in their faces.

But I am thrilled that something good came from the ashes of the corpse of past regime.

Burns bulked up from what I understand which helped. So did Shaq. Defense definitely looks bigger on the field than last year.

Dude his bank account makes him look like an Adonis. Money hides a lot of ugly, at least on the outside anyway.

Everytime you see her interact with him her body language gives it away.

This is one area I actually feel bad for him.

I might not like him but I wouldn't wish that on any man.

    • I don’t know about floor in a team defense sense but we needed more.  The floor that I am familiar with is our QBs floor and it is so low that every other part of the team needs to be beefed up.     We tried our best to improve these things and I think we did improve the defense and we at least kept the offense  from sinking from no LT.  And ostensibly helped the receivers too.   So we kept a window open that we at least have a chance to improve our record by a game of two.  Which would probably give us the division.

    • Yeah. I am one of. those who think a JAG RB can eat with really good blocking. (Brooks is most important in my mind, in tbe passing game and that is what we’ll lose without him)  There are a lot of aspects to this. The big one that caused us to struggle is Young and his arm scared no one.  Best back, best blocking still cannot defeat a really good defense if they are not forced to respect the pass.  And teams did not.    But, a strong OL and running game Can get us over against weaker defenses.  And if Bryce still doesn’t scare anyone we can still win some games. Like last year  So it is really important to tend to that OL.   Get that straight and see if in his fourth year he can finally back defenses off. That is what if is all about this year to me, on the Bryce front.
