Unfortunately Erving probably not squirming too much…he still gets paid millions

The fact that Erving still finds employment, and deposits a fat check, only underlines the shortage of talented OLmen on the market -- or indeed, on current rosters.

They don't grow them big boys on trees, like they do WRs.

In Fitt we trust.  When the opportunity presents itself, he'll strike.

Sign Terron Armstead and draft Tyler Linderbaum

I don't know about these exact two players but I think that's the right attitude.  A plan as simple as signing just one FA and one first round draft pick would go a long way to fixing our OL woes.  And that's a very doable strategy with the team's huge cap space next year.

I was wondering what had happened. Although you could argue Darnold injured his pride and his return was probable.

Was going to mention this in another thread but reputation is important, not just with other GM's around the league but agents and players as well. Carolina isn't mentioned often as a potential destination for higher level talent wanting to move on from their current team but it would be nice if it was.

I think this also highlights just how difficult it could be to rebuild the O-line. It's been brought up before but with the way football offenses are built at the college level, the pool of pro-ready Uglies isn't what it used to be.

The Athletic had a discussion with a bunch of agents talking about who they could trust, who they could deal with, who does/doesn't lie to them, etc. Fitterer came off pretty good.

I've also read that he's very well networked around the league.

    • I didn't move the goal posts. But anyone who follows football who wants to engage in a rational discussion can't argue that 10 7th round picks are equal to 10 1st rounders in value. The argument has always been we haven't spent as much on defense has we have on offense. Draft picks have value just like salary. We have not spent the same amount of draft pick salary cap on defense that we have on offense since drafting Bryce. It's not even close. Just the 2 1sts we used on Bryce, 2 overall 1sts have a value of 6000. That doesn’t even factor in DJ Moore or the 2 2nds. Bryce cost more than everything we've spent on defense in 6 damn years.
    • We need to hope this scenario plays our next week he fails with pressure…what that means with Evero, is beyond me
    • Woukd be a great addition You know the issues from my prespective, 2 things the Panthers must do 1. Edge or pass rushers or 2 oline or 3 oline or as Andy Reid says, when in doubt, draft a lineman it is time   That oline is troubling plus a small person at QB  they   1. Can do a lot better than mayes at center, 2. and lewis has had injuries all season. 3. Moton should not have  been resigned long term, 4. corbett is a shadow and will probably be released  5 and Christianson coming off Achilles   6 and the kicker, would be Ickey’s contract if they decide to keep him INMO rookie and contracts will be needed to offset all that
