Ignoring all the other negative crap...

There are plenty of other threads about everything wrong with this team so I thought I'd be different.

I actually have a question about the no huddle offense. Every play Delhomme calls in audible during no huddle, at least that I've noticed, he loudly identifies the MLB. The number he calls is different though. Is this some method of playcalling, or is the MLB that important when calling audibles?

This is honestly an aspect of the game I don't know, plus it gives us a chance to discuss the no huddle.

It would be "all of the above", and then some. Everything shouted out, and every hand gesture made, means something, and thus the combination of what's shouted out and what gestures are made will determine the play being called and/or variations of that. You'll usually see ALL QBs pointing out most defenders who may be indicating a blitz, to ensure that everyone knows who their responsibility is if that defensive player DOES blitz, and any other aspect of their assignment(s). Peyton Manning is the absolute master of this, bar none.

It could also be like in baseball. When the coach is giving signs he has an indicator. Only after that is done do the signals mean something.

So barking something out could be the indicator and the NEXT thing said or done is the actual signal.

I do this all the time at Wal Mart...

    • If you need someone to run your multi-billion dollar business, maaayyyybe don't hire a guy whose previous work experience includes repeated blows to the head and literal brain damage but IDK.
    • Extrapolate that with every QB for that matter. I guarantee you there's quite a bit of missed opportunities and yards left on the field for everyone. Many NFL QBs deal with WRs not putting in A+ effort, subpar o-line play and other deficiencies. The great ones are able to rise above these issues and create opportunities for plays. Guys like Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes can both play in and out of structure, as well as find ways to get yards when things break down and mask mistakes by throwing guys open, creating opportunities from nothing, etc. Bryce Young has only shown he's able to make things happen when the rest of the team picks up his slack. Very rarely does he create those opportunities himself. When this is a consistent pattern year after year with Bryce where he shows up lackluster, it's a concern. This is year three and he should be elevating the team as a first overall pick this franchise traded up for.  He was far from elevating anyone against JAX. In fact, he needed others to elevate and create for him. Excuses may be fine for a rookie, but this is year three for the first overall pick. Not looking good so far.
    • I think the worst issue is coaching. Countless bad snaps, XL not getting his feet in or trying on runs plays, our centre being down field when he didn't need to be. All seem to be from poor coaching for me. I believe Canales is to soft to rip the players a new one when the fug up. Plus I honestly believe that Canales is slow getting his plays in giving Bryce less time to diagnose and adjust to the defence. Don't worry I could of head butted Bryce for that fumble and the 4th down throw aways but the other plays are explainable to me
