Cam Newton should be done as a starting QB in this league

I get what you're saying and I agree to an extent but Darnold definitely started catching some heat after his 2nd loss and those two guys cant be evaluated exactly the same.   Most likely neither are the answer.  In the nfl you cant judge a 24 year old qb who is all potential who the coaches though they could mold and a 32 year old QB who is physically on the down turn and has had multiple major injuries that have seemed to be nagging him years later, the same.  Of course you have to look at those two situations a bit differently when you are trying to figure out your qb for the future.

Sam wasn’t having threads like this create after one bad game, and we turned on Sam because he was playing bad while the defense was still playing at an elite level, that’s not the case the last two weeks.

Sam has missed his fair share of games and cam has too, cam is healthy and his bad play yesterday wasn’t because of physical limitations more so miscommunication and bad reads. He’s not the future but hoping he’s serviceable until we can properly find a replacement.

bottom line to create a thread like this for a guy coming off the couch who is still on pace to out perform qbs that have been on the roster since day 1 is very short sighted to say the least, we are talking about a game where the entire team looked cooked

He lost his last 10 games as a Panther, and he looked yesterday like he looked most of last year with the Patriots.  There's nothing to suggest that he will turn it around.  Physically, he just can't make NFL throws CONSISTENTLY to be the starting QB.

A QB needs to be consistent and accurate.  He needs to make good decisions and put the ball where it needs to be when it needs to be there.

Cam has never been that guy.  The season we went 15-1, the defense played really well and we had a silly turnover advantage over opponents.  We never put together back-to-back winning seasons when he was healthy and young.

We are not a good football team, and Cam needs a good football team to be good.

This defense has given up 60 points in 2 weeks, yet here is another bitch about Cam thread. What kind bagger vance, green mile, magic ***** bs are you looking for from a guy 2 weeks off his couch. There is a pervasive sickness in this fan base that disguises itself as criticism.

It takes all of 15 secs to look back on 2018, here are his stats from Pitts slaughtering until seasons end, his only bad game is against TB and the saints game everyone knew he was too hurt to play.

but hey let’s act like the other two phases of football don’t matter or that cam has some direct impact on those phases, even when he did his job at the highest level we still loss, that goes for last week and majority of the 10 games you conveniently mention with 0 context

Yeah, I'm over it, bro.  There is just a segment that is fixated on and determined to make Cam the problem and salivating at every opportunity for perceived failure so they can make threads like this.

Lamar Jackson threw 4 HORRIBLE picks last night.  But his coaching staff knew what tf they were doing and made the right decisions when the time came and their defense and run game held up their end of the bargain, as they usually always do.  And yet, I don't see Ravens fans calling for his head en masse.  Because they understand the big picture and appreciate his talent, even on a bad day/night.  We seriously have one of the dumbest fanbases out there, period.

I'm surprised we haven't seen PJ more in the past two weeks honestly. Cam can still obviously play a part in the offense, especially in the red zone. But I just can't see how he's a full time starting option after less than 3 weeks on the roster. If they bring him back next season and he has a full offseason in whatever offensive coordinator's system they have, I'm sure he'd look better. I feel like they ran the same 3-4 formations and ran the same plays over and over because he only knows like 20% of the playbook at this point.

PJ has 1 TD and 7 INTs in his career. He's not even the 32nd-best backup QB, just like Rhule isn't even the 32nd-best coach and Tepper isn't even the 32nd-best owner.

There is also a segment that can’t admit Cam has faults with his playing. To them nothing is Cams fault, it’s always everyone else.

You seriously comparing a 24 year old Lamar in his prime with no history of shoulder injuries to Cam?  You’re just delusional

Just burn it all down. The Rhule experiment has been an abysmal failure and it took it being an abysmal failure for Cam to be brought back. It was the first sign of true desperation and pride swallowing from Rhule but it likely won't be the last. He's a dead man walking. I just hope Tepper sees it and moves on. If he's brought back for a third year I anticipate it looking about like Jon Fox's final season.
