Why not a mobile QB?

Mobile QBs are great IF they are also accurate passers. This is why guys like Elway, Staubach and Young were winners. Vick and The Golden Calf of Bristol? Not so much.

Tebows careers stats as a passer: 81 tds to 15 INTS, 65 % completion, 8335 yards, 155.42 rating. Yeah, those stats suck. The Golden Calf of Bristol is nowhere near the caliber of Delhomme.

Look up Rex Grossman's stats in the Florida system while you're at it.

Certain combinations of school and position are best avoided in the draft. "Florida quarterback" is one of them.

Also look at his rushing stats. Your Grossman argument is not valid for this situation. Im not saying he would be our hero, but seems like with our system and our staff someone like The Golden Calf of Bristol would be great here.

Our next quarterback:

One hundred percent wildcat one hundred percent of the time.

Serioulsy though a mobile QB would be great if he can complete 65% of his passes and throw very few interceptions.

Works 30% of the time, every time.

The Golden Calf of Bristol is a great kid. he's the kind of guy I'd love to have as a Panther and he'd be easy to cheer for.

With that said, I'm in the crowd that thinks he won't translate well to the NFL as a QB. His skill set just doesn't fit that well. And being in the Florida system doesn't really help.

Someone will take a chance on him as an NFL QB. I don't want it to be us.

Yeah, you never know. I think we are in a mess and need something different. If our system only wants the QB to pass 10-15 times a game, I think a The Golden Calf of Bristol would really benefit us.

If you're talking about a Vick or a Young, no thanks - these guys are mobile and make plays but struggle to read defenses and at some point you have to be able to stand in the pocket and make smart throws.

If you're talking about a Steve Young or Jeff Garcia or Fran Tarkenton then yes, they could scramble very effectively when they HAD TO but could also stand in the pocket, read defenses and make throws. (no, I don't consider Garcia in the same class as Young or Tarkenton).

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
