I was watching a game on ESPN the other night and they had McShay's mock draft running across the ticker at the bottom of the screen and showed Cross as the Panthers' pick. So, that's probably not going to happen.

i havent watched him much if not at all but the reports on him is that he is an animal with a dog mentality that he wants to rip your head off every play.  A lot like wirfs and wills

Am I the only person that gets a hard on after reading this scouting report?

Nevertheless, being lean doesn’t stop Cross from being a violent and physical tackle who exudes competitive toughness. Finishing a play doesn’t always mean putting your man in the dirt, but it appears that the Mississippi State OT did not get that memo. Cross looks to punish his opponent every play, whether in pass protection or as a mauler in the ground game. Despite his lean frame, he’s powerful and displays a decent anchor in pass protection.

Alongside his physicality and violence, Cross brings elite athleticism to the position.

Enough of the bullshit.  Stop being silly and get this dude (or someone comparable) and let him anchor the left side.  Damn I want a dog at LT

Keep in mind his "lean" frame is at 305lbs and projects to add another 10-20lbs of muscle.  Godalmighty lets do this

That should sell Rhule on him, but what is his arm length?😉

If I am tepper and saw that this team imploded afuginggain because our oline was the worst in the league I would call rhule into my office and simply say.  "Hey I see that Slater had one of the best rookie seasons ever for a LT.  Tell me again about your arm theory in regards to the NFL?"

If I was Tepper calling Rhule into my office, it would be to clean out his office and pack his bags.

This. I honestly haven't even paid attention this incoming draft class yet because I have no hope for this organization as long as Rhule is here. I would normally be banging the table for Sam Howell but I don't want him here with Rhule and this crew and this OL. He's dealt with atrocious OL play all year this season. If we aren't gonna get our poo together, just let him go to Pittsburgh and a proven organization.

It's looking like 3 top 10 OT prospects.  If this organization flubs this no-brainer decision, it may be wraps for me.  I'll just carry on my Sundays from that point forward like the NFL doesn't exist.  Really, that's how much of a deal breaker this is to me right now.  If there isn't a franchise QB in this year's class (and there really isn't) getting your franchise OT is the next best thing.  I don't care about any other position.  Don't give me some crap about DEs, WRs and certainly not CBs.  Those positions can't change the fortune of a struggling franchise.  A stud left tackle that keeps the QB clean can make a marginal QB look good as long as the QB takes care of the ball.  The key is, dude has to stay UPRIGHT.

Again, if the organization screws up this pick, I will really consider washing my hands of this incompetency once and for all.

I feel Howell could be the pick for the Panthers, especially if another QB or two gets selected before they pick. Tepper and Co know the UNC fans will buy tickets and merch to support one of their guys.

If we're gonna fire Rhule and get a real NFL coaching staff and commit to building an NFL caliber OL, I'd LOVE to have Howell. If not, I hope for his sake he lands elsewhere.

Howell at pick 6.  fug that.   My god people he would be ruined in 3 years.   Pick a damn beast at tackle.    But you know this franchise is going to fug up our top 10 pick……..again.

    • Nothing new, Run the ball and stop the run has always been the key in the NFL. So many on here don't want a game manager.  They want Dan Marino or Dan Fouts to be throwing the ball.  (neither of them won a SB)
    • Why do you intentionally twist things that people say? Please show me in my post where I said that the media has NEVER hyped up Bryce Young. The person I was responding to said that the media has created a mythos around Bryce Young.  And I asked if he can show me anything recently where the media has spoken about Bryce Young as if they are building a mythos around him.  And no, I don't consider articles from before he was drafted to mean jack ish - people are wrong, including you, including myself, about prospects every year. Since the season has started, can you give me one media outlet that has deemed Bryce Young to be a franchise QB / long-term answer at the position?  Don't bother responding with anything else.
    • But neither is 100 per game.  Sunday's game was very windy.  Both Young and Love felt it.   I'm no NFL QB but I can throw a football quite well.  Throwing in a strong wind is very difficult.  The shorter the throws the better chance you have of maintaining the zip on the ball.   The longer the ball is in the air the velocity decrease quite quickly.  Young's throw that was intercepted was the exact route XL scored on in Miami, but it was easily picked off due to the strong wind.   Love should have had two picks against him and both of them died in the wind.  So, while throw bombs is cool you have to take the conditions into account.
